I'm pretty sure the roles worse off are tanks and healers, those are the roles people mainly use as alt jobs, and now everyone will be rolling on tank/healer gear.

I'm not saying it's a good system or that there are no better solutions. I'm just saying it's balanced. So, lets take a system that sometimes hurt some people and make it hurt everyone. Now those poor RDMs have to roll against 7 other people, instead of just 3... but at least the tanks now have to fight 7 others for their gear now too! Haha tenks. (Did anyone actually get bitter that tanks/DRGs/NINs had no competition...?)
They should have added tokens. It does the exact same thing except you wouldn't have to worry about the DPS who has been dead for 90% of the fight rolling on healer gloves you might need because "muh glims". Hopefully this will be released alongside raid tokens and increased loot, because if it is then I have no qualms about this change.

Also, now that people don't have to play tank/healer to get tank/healer gear, they'll just queue as DPS. (Yes, not everybody goes to dungeons on dps, some people main tanks/healers. Not a majority.)
Sooo.... longer queues for dps waiting on tanks and healers, now!
So now I never have a reason to enter one of those ever again after the story run. My luck even with need tends to be sometimes in the 2 months range... of doing it once per day... With greed... that just changes to never...
Worst idea ever - just so that some crybabies can roll on the loot that they would actually put some work in - instead of afking and watching netflix.
(super serious)I don't know what to put here so I've put this here as a placeholder until I figure it out.(super serious)
Recruitment code if you are starting out: FTB8JBQ5
The current situation doesn't need you to "put some work in" at all. You can already go AFK and watch Netflix and still get loot. The only difference is the job/role you are allowed to queue as.
The irony is they've now made it significantly harder for tanks who actually want the gear because all the raiders playing their DPS alts can roll on it for glamour. It's an incredibly shortsighted change that benefits no one except people who want gear for a job they won't play.I'm against the idea as well, but alliance raid and gear has always been released in catch up patches used for catch up gear. I assume this is so players can catch up their alt jobs considering that alliance gear is almost always outdated but the halfway point of the patch. With a new expansion to Eureka, there's the possibility they might enhance the relic gear to 360 then 365 after that. Making Alliance gear greed only gives more reason to farm it I suppose? Just a theory.

Indeed. There was a reason why I was hoping that the "all greed" thing a mistranslation or mistake of some sort if it did pertain to DF. SE wouldn't be that dumb to make the latter happen. But anything can happen at this point.

It's still not balanced. Tanks have longest queues for alliance raids because there is only 3 spots for them. Now they get to still wait long and have to roll against 7 others.
I hope they don't do this, this is really going to ruin the alliance raids. Not only do we deal with the right body piece and rng but now we have to worry about rng with 8 other people. This is a bad decision. It's ok on Omega because the fight takes 10 minutes but alliance raids take almost 1 hour the first few months.
