Like 99% of the Lala I know are named after some pastry or dish. Tater tot, peacan pie and dim sum oh and buttered Chicken...., but I'm a simple sunbro. I see Lala's I /pet them and they usually dance and go about their popotoe way and my job is done.

Yeah it is more of a meme and started in ffxi like enikdoh said. People don't really "hate" lalafall but it goes inline with memes as you said like the dragoon thing tanking the floor. You also may want to limit how often you reply since there is a 20 post cap per day

I don't hate them at all. They are an excellent food source.



But I think the "hate" came from 2.0 onward considering a couple of the lalas we have met through the MSQ have generally been out to get us in some way, or have been shady otherwise.

There's a Lala boss in Halatali HM. Name's Mumuepo the Beholden and he manipulates a demon, because yeah... Lalafells are evil af.

there is a time when a joke is repeated that many times that it's just not funny anymore and is nothing else than blatant mobbing.

I want to say its because a grand majority of the lalafell player base can be insufferable about said race, going on with how cute they are, going out of there way to shove it in your face with cringe level's of annoyances.
Heck, some some examples have already been posted.

Now yes the " short race cause LAWLS " can be kinda funny, some Lalafell players have found an ascended level, to the point that you can't enjoy it, but hate it, loath it for some.

Some Lala players aren't like this, but like all stigmas about every race, you can't escape it.
