Where did the Lalafell hate originate?

My alt is Teledji Adeledji on Malboro. I liked his design and enjoyed his role in the MSQ. Funny enough, folks on my server spoil him rotten. So ... if you run with that name and face and your friend list is nearly full, you dash through any and all content and organize events just fine with not a single person being blacklisted so far, adding to what Enkidoh explained, I think it's up to the lalafell players how they portray them or how they behave in game. Personally no one has given be any grief... for the last year and half I've ran as that evil spud.

Any 'hate' I take as a joke and joke back, then we usually end up talking, take funny screenshots and I get another cool player that I befriend and end up running content with.

Only reason to hate Lalafell: They can sneak up on us taller races and bite our ankles before we know it.

In all actuality, it definitely is just a meme and if anyone truly hates Lalafell based on the fact they are small/cutesy/whatever may need to take a step of 500 back.

I see lalas as my lowlander friends. Great traders. Fun to be around. I like to give them apple juice. Some lke to watch me as a CUL, until they realize I am just making airship repair materials.

Can confirm. Desktop site is far better - even on phone. Don't bother with mobile.

As far as the hate? I think it's just gentle ribbing that carried over from XI days. As others have said, it's the same that has carried over with Dragoons, and Elezen/elvaan (although XIV variety seem far more sensitive to the jokes!) and other things.

Granted, of course there will be people who really just don't like the race, and that's fine. I don't like a few options in this game either, but hey, to each their own.

I don't hate lalafell's just....this is a case where I blame the games lack of character customization more then anything else. They just make me remember those Cabbage Patch Kid's dolls we had growing up. Some found them super cute. I found them...super creepy looking.



I main Lyn in BnS and have a Chua alt in Wildstar and a Elin alt in Tera. Just something about lalafells that make my brain go "Hey!!! You remember every single haunted doll story in the history of forever?? Well now you are!!!"

I don't hate them at all. They are an excellent food source.



But I think the "hate" came from 2.0 onward considering a couple of the lalas we have met through the MSQ have generally been out to get us in some way, or have been shady otherwise.

I can't stand the "only kind of good lalafell is a dead lalafell" jokes... It's not too bad on my server but when I enter Eureka, omg!

I wish people would stop with the lalafells are food comments...
