Did you not read my post? I already said I wanted a reasonable degree of equality across jobs, genders, and races.

And it's utterly asinine to expect an exact 1:1 ratio. That's like expecting an exact 1:1 ratio of job abilities across all jobs. It inhibits artistic freedom for the development team, because the split-second someone gets a great idea for a particular race and gender, there's suddenly a looming question over what should be done for the remaining races and genders. It'll never happen, and never should happen - and advocating for it will almost surely incline SE and others to dismiss you as a hard-liner to be ignored, rather than someone contributing a valuable, reasonable idea to the community.

Glamours, on the other hand, defy the foundations laid throughout the game world. It defies the clothing conventions of NPCs in the vast majority of cases; it defies the foundations laid by the gear system, wherein there's a strong correlation between one's defensive prowess and the thickness of one's armour. Hence, for me, it shreds the immersion a good bit more than a bolt of lightning coming from a BLM does.
There are literal tank bikinis though - look at the Shisui set. Look at the Sky Pirate top. Look at the glam of almost every Au Ra on the Steppe.Tanks defend against incoming damage with flashy magical abilities just as dps throw fireballs with them.

I dunno, I get that you have your own idea of immersion I just don't see how it's rooted in any logic.

Then, restrict all of these purely Glamour-focused, non-combat outfits to this new job.
    Absolutely not.

I happen to fancy the Ala Mhigan Gown, Spring Shorts, Faire Joi, Eastern Lady's Crackows and Thavnairian Sandals. Your proposal prevents me from using any of them as glamour during combat. Forcing people into "pre-approved" outfits is a fantastic way to lose players, especially in a game that heavily promotes glamour as "the true endgame."

Sure, bikini tanks may look silly, but sometimes I feel like being silly.

I read your post and considering you're posting with a female Miqo'te avatar, I don't think you've ever been on the side that wants for options. Of course I want to have as much variety and quantity in gear you have available to you- I am not unreasonable for wanting fairness. Gear design is not even remotely the same as job ability quantity/balance so I'm not sure why you're trying to go that way. If you make something nice for one gender but can't reasonably design a similar set, then make it available to everyone. If you can make two stylistically different sets that are locked, release them in tandem. If you can make two variations on the same set, then release them locked or unlocked as you see fit.

As a customer who feels shorted by SE's design team I frankly don't care about limiting artistic freedom and the stress they feel when they suddenly have to account for the other half of the player base. They are paid professionals who do this for a living and I expect that to be reflected in the options available to me. If they can't be fair as-is, then they need to review their process to address the gaps and shortcomings. It didn't use to be that girls had more than guys when the glamour system was introduced- only over time did it become apparent that SE was more interested in playing Barbie with their female avatars and leaving men as an afterthought. They started off equal and they can become equal again- it's not some impossibly outrageous notion.

I like the idea of having some more glamour items for female characters. Albeit, at the moment I'm kind of in love with my new world shaman get up.

If the inspector can wear a dress , i see no reason the rest of the males can not do the same !
Granted he did look quite frightening , like Baldrick from the black Adder TV series.

There are NPCs that will apply to your military squadron in fullbody reindeer, snowman, pig, etc outfits and get accepted.
There are NPCs that wear a mix of caster/healer/melee/tank gear on their models
Most NPCs are not the special advanced jobs that your character is (whm, blm, etc)
Glamours exist in the game world, sometimes to even disguise a person entirely. It's been in a few seasonal quest lines and levequests.

    ...?

While I do agree with more 'dungeon' content, the 'clothing' artist devs do not create dungeon or bosses. So more or less of these costumes won't really change the speed at which we get more 'dungeon' content.

So true, I don't know why everybody wants the exact same thing on all the different races. Like why even have different races then? I want to have stuff that's only available to hyurs and so feel more special about it.
Back in my day (vanilla WoW, MMO's around 2004 and before) each race felt unique and special in their own way, there were reasons as to why you picked one, but now soon everything is going to be the same ... >.>
