The thing is: The devs said they had a team dedicated to this outfit, and that said team were working really hard to make/design an outfit that would be appealing to the female audience on the same way the female bunny outfit is appealing to guys to look at. It wasn't supposed to be comedy, and this only reflects on what always happens in regards to gear on videogames or general clothing: Women are supposed to be sex objects and men are supposed to either be bland neutral or comic relief.

Male bunny outfit =/= Female bunny outfit for males.

I agree with you here, but I think you need to see the other side of this as well. They said they needed to make the male version of this from scratch, basically. This doesn't exactly reflect what is being shown now. All it shows is they probably didn't want to do it in the first place and decided to take the easy way out. Like I've said already, I didn't really care if this happened or not, but I can see both sides of this. On one hand, it is very equal to the female counterpart, so it will appease probably most of the people who wanted this to begin with. On the other, the time it took for them to copy/paste it just doesn't add up. I think some people were expecting...more.

A lot of people (myself included) have been waiting for nearly 2 years for a bunny outfit for male characters. Naturally the fact they took so long we assumed it must be different right? I mean...

Change in itself isn't that horrible, the new AST set has differences but they're more than acceptable imo. Thing is, it looks like SE can't design things for males, period, because it's either the bland pants we got from the fashion report, or just a copy-paste of the female outfit which don't even look that good on a male physique to begin with.

That just left me speechless, I thought the whole reason it was taking so long was because they were making a new design for males, not just slap the female outfit on males.

But hey, it goes in line with how lazy this expansion has been.

But of course the raises even more questions now about male glamours doesn't it? If they are willing to give us this... why can't we have the female Thav set then? They have the male version. Why not Lyse's outfit? We're getting the female bunny outfit. I mean... they're being very fickle about this and it kind of sucks.

They apparently only see females as a way to express certain fashion points and sexual appeal.

While males are apparently only a joke (it feels like at times...)

This argument is problematic when you consider that a lot of people play female charas BECAUSE of the glamour situation. It's a self fulfilling prophecy at this point.
Also, you'd think that with all the bots running around, the leading demographic would be male Midlanders, but somehow SE can tell those apart from actual players but they can't ban them...?

If so then yes I feel like some annoyance is justified. If not... they had no deadline. This doesn't look like 2 years of time invested because it isn't two years of time invested.

I understand the point you're headed towards I'm just wondering if it's backed up by mistaken affirmations from SE.

I can't really recall when it was in the past couple of years, but I do remember them saying that it'd take some time because they had to redo them for males from scratch. I don't think that was the only reason for the delay though. It probably wasn't a priority for them and they just wanted to get it out of their way...so here we are. This is the impression I'm being given at least. I'm glad that it's happening mostly so I don't have to hear about it anymore...or hear/see people ask about them at events like Fanfest and Pax, which should be a place to answer more important things. But I can understand why people may be disappointed.

Wait, what? This was supposed to appeal to women?

Uh...I dunno how to explain this to the devs, but...most women (I'm sure there are some) don't want their dudes in heeled shoes with bows on them and fishnet stockings. The photo Lilseph posted is a heck of a lot closer to what would appeal to me, at least.

I honestly wasn't going to say anything because I honestly thought it was a good move for the folks that play trans characters or for folks who participate in the drag queen community. Like looking at that photo that is what I thought the aim was, and honestly thought it was a good thing. I still think it is, 'cause those folks should have more options. But if the goal was to make smexy male eye candy for straight women....yeah I'm a bit terrified at what else they think we're into ._.

What do you want to dress Haurchefant, Aymeric, and Hien in, devs? Bam, most straight women (and many, MANY men) will be ecstatic with those choices. Use those three as a starting point.

EDIT: That being said, some people are saying there were women on the design team for this? If that's the case then I have a very strong feeling they either had strict directions to follow...or they purposefully did this to show how ridiculous the sexualization of female characters can get. While I'm all for that particular fight, it seems very unfair to rob the male characters of this game from a sexy outfit to make that point if that is indeed true (I have no idea, I have no sources, just an opinion based on what's been said in this thread thus far).

I have a feeling that sometimes you don't have read the answers from Yoshi-P every time they interview the good man about this subject. Basically every time they ask him the very subject of the bunny suit for the males Yoshi-P always answered that they are working on that project which will take time to finished for other races too and they ask this question every time they have the chance to interview Yoshi-P for the last two years. But I get your point and i do agree in some parts in your statement, one thing i know is that the audience really need to be real patience when they request this type of things and need to be aware that its takes time and money to give this kind of service to the players.

EDIT: Also sorry don't know how to quote others since i barely make post and reply other's people opinions
