A majority of end game content has exclusive rewards to promote its content in a unique way, so there's nothing wrong with PvP doing the same. PvP has a lot of flaws, but it will reward players who master it and put the effort in just the same as other PvE content no matter how unfun or toxic it's perceived to be.

If you don't like the content, then just don't do it. If you want the reward, then either you get out of your comfort zone and put the time and effort in or you don't want it enough. Why should we appeal to your specific desire for the reward when there is already a functioning way to get it? Relic/Anima tasks are far from the epitome of fun or good game design, yet no one says you should be able to get them from savage raids or PvP. If people can't get relic/Anima rewards as an example for doing other content, why should we extend that to PvP?

And I do agree with Ava that making previous top 100 rewards available again for the same achievement would be fine. Not being able to ever get a reward again is a problem I can understand, and as long as the skill and effort for the reward are reasonably maintained then I have no complaints.

As for how it's functional, I've already addressed all those concerns in the last thread you brought this up, Stormfur, so you can refer to that thread. As for the toxicity of PvP, yes it's not ideal, but PvP and toxicity come hand in hand in all games. SE decided that having PvP to fulfill that drive in players is worth the toxicity, no matter how they try to mitigate it.

PVP exclusive rewards should stay exclusive, and PVE exclusive rewards should stay exclusive too. With that said, ideally, what they should have done from the very beginning (or at the very least from now on) is promote PVP but not force ranked down peoples' throats like that. There isn't a single soul playing The Feast nonranked because there are zero rewards and there's no incentive. Let the ranked players have their titles, elo, ladders and an exclusive reward attained by a certain amount of victories every season. Let the players who do normal matches have the same reward with the same number of victories, but without titles, ladders and elo. Both queues are suddenly alive. Ranked players get to have their toxicity, their ignore mark spammers, their little threatening messages through alts while the others can just play PVP (and even enjoy it!) while working for a reward.

I enjoy PVP. I enjoy competing. I don't enjoy getting insulted, bashed, ignore mark spammed, threatened and boycotted. Withstanding the latter is required for ranked online gaming nowadays? Sadly it is, so count me out.

If they would make exclusive rewards account-wide and expand it to per server opposed to data center, it would make the leaderboard system a lot fairer and open up the pool to more competition. But as it is right now, it's more of a stagnant pool than a ladder.

"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
    "We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.

That I can agree upon, why make it simply top 100 when it can be expanded upon to be top 150 or top 200 and that alone can solve a lot of issues with exclusive rewards players complaint about and the toxicity of the feast now that it allows more players to get the reward.

This is can 100% back. It would help negate the need for alts.

Not this quite so much, if top 100 was server based then it would either be extremely awkward cross server competition wise and/or would limit queues back to server only. That would destroy PvP entirely, the community is too small as it is.

    Name one.

Every single mount or minion made available from end game content can be later unsynced and utterly stomped. Gordias Savage is notorious for being the most difficult fight pre-4.1 this game ever produced. Nowadays, you don't even need eight players. Likewise, you will skip virtually every single mechanic Brute Justice has; Alex Prime once required Tank LB3 yet now LB2 and Passage of Arms is enough to mitigate through it. Even Ultimate has no exclusivity since the rewards will always remain available, provided you find a group of seven other like-minded people with the skill to clear. So it's quite the opposite: the majority of endgame PvE content has no exclusive rewards.
