Even if we assume this is a possibility, they can easily let the conversion have the same probability as the craft itself anyway? (like cap collectable= HQ 100%)
It's basically to protect from issues arising from it because the system is annoying IMO. Let's say you were just doing the NPC turn-ins and someone asks you to craft them an HQ item that happens to have a collectable. You forget to turn it off. With the popup, you have two choices: Yes, which turns it into a collectable, and No which basically rolls for HQ. With no popup you are now stuck with a collectable that isn't HQ and can only be downgraded to NQ.

Keep in mind consumables like food and potions will only give you a single item if you accidentally collectable it, where crafting them as a non collectable gives you 3 for most consumables. So with no popup and an accident you end up losing 2 items you can't recover at all on top of losing the chance of HQing them.

They could let you downgrade collectables and roll for HQ based on the collectability of the item sure, but that probably requires more complicated coding then just asking if the player wants to make a collectable (Yes) or roll for HQ (No) when they finish the synth and still doesn't give you back the 2 or more items lost if a consumable. You would probably have to restrict the collectable downgrade option to certain areas. (Places where you can't craft if it invokes a finish craft, depending on how the crafting system is coded it might not even be possible without changing how it works).

I mean you could give people 2 more items and roll for HQ when you convert it too, but they would have to debug and watch it very closely since that could lead to possible duping. Just starts to get really complicated.

450 mendacity helps upgrade my 70 WHM/MNK iLvl massively, jewelry-wise, at least.

like I said im willing to concede on giving us options, what you said never happened to me though, only mistake that did happen though was doing those weekles with the thing off though. I see no argument on how it can be possibly needed for gathering, due to the interface on how it is done.

I don't get people actually posting arguments like that, since you can say the same thing over having them. Remove all warning pop ups because it is "fist world problems" when someone makes a mistake over not having them.

I forgot the patch when they implemented the warning, but it came way after the Beast Tribe quests were introduced.

So this QOL will be unfortunately be here to stay.
Proof? I don't see how there can be mass complaints for needing a warning flashing in the middle of your screen for meeting 450 cap cap, or all these bloat menus.

They were added back in ARR at various points due to player feedback and requests. And yes at the time some people didn't want them while some did and most were neutral. I'm assuming you're a relatively recent player to ask that. In the end, an option to toggle currency warnings would be a nice QoL addition for those that feel it's a hassle but they were added in the first place for a reason.

While there may be legitimate reasons for having a cap on high end Tomestones the current cap is too low. With the numerous ways to obtain Mendacity I can normally reach this cap by Thursday evening. 2 days after reset. That fact devalues the content for the rest of the week. If you are going to have a cap please make it somewhere between 600 and 1000. Just mt opinion.

i wonder what the replies was like back then, where they met with "first world problems" replies? did the people on the neutral end expected it be done in this way where it gave annoying menu bloat? surely they could had a better way of addressing this , esp when it comes to flashing that message i nthe middle of the screen that drops quicker then people can read it.

Since when has Mendacity been a reward for beast tribes?
As far as I know only the ARR and HW beast tribes award tomes, and they're Poetics, which you should be spending anyway so the game's really doing you a favour by telling you you're capped on those.

Disregard that turns out I'm an idiot oops

Ananta beast tribes award mendacity (and Kojin awarded creation when they were the limited capped tome). Personally I don't ever see the capped tome message unless I do HW tribes since I don't have all jobs at 70 yet so once I cap tomes for the week (if I was using tribe allowances for easy obtainment) I just do tribe quests on jobs that aren't at cap so wouldn't get tomes from them anyway.

Oh it's only when you're on a level 70 job?
Guess it makes sense why I never knew they gave tomes lol
