If anything, you should just get a Congratulatory message for reaching the 450 weekly cap, rather than a warning every time you try to go over it.

adding for extra clarity.(Keep in mind I am not talking about getting rid of the message that appear in your chat log. What I am strongly apposed in seeing, is the red message that flashes in the middle of your screen + that sound it does, that is what I want removed, along with options with removing menu bloat of turning in tribes.)
In general I really hate those messages that pop in the middle of your screen, they appear and fade too fast to be able to read. The only reason I vaguely know what it is saying is from knowing the game. But in regards to tomes, all I know it is telling me (something) is capped off and I need check the currency tab each time it appears because I can't read it to know what tome it is talking about + just tired of that sound. I don't need messages appearing in the middle of my screen over something I HAVE no control over.
Is this why people are confused? saying it is "easy to ignore"? thinking I was talking about the log message?
One more thing about useless menus, why is there a confirm box after crafting a collectable? with this logic there should be a pop up with every item you make "are you sure you want this item or turn it into a collectable" I mean the game lets you downgrade collectables into normal items anyway.. so why is it there?!!?!??!

Yep, that's another useless popup. If anything, what would be useful is something that prevents us from crafting normal versions of an item that is ONLY good as a collectable (like the weekly delivery stuff) for the people who forget to tick their collectable status on.One more thing about useless menus, why is there a confirm box after crafting a collectable? with this logic there should be a pop up with every item you make "are you sure you want this item or turn it into a collectable" I mean the game lets you downgrade collectables into normal items anyway.. so why is it there?!!?!??!
But I guess these things should be left in the game, because as some people said, there's worse things going on in the world and that should always be the justification used for not taking the little bit of time it would take to make things better.
It's probably because if you wanted to make an HQ item using really expensive mats, and you forgot to turn it off you would be screwed since it would end up a collectable if it could be one and you can only downgrade into NQ. So I wouldn't really call it useless. One more thing about useless menus, why is there a confirm box after crafting a collectable? with this logic there should be a pop up with every item you make "are you sure you want this item or turn it into a collectable" I mean the game lets you downgrade collectables into normal items anyway.. so why is it there?!!?!??!

does the game even let you craft attempt something that has costly masts as a collectable attempt? O_o.
Even if we assume this is a possibility, they can easily let the conversion have the same probability as the craft itself anyway? (like cap collectable= HQ 100%)
I am sure people can admit it is literally useless on gathering though?

I believe that the warning wasn't on before for Beast Tribe quests back in the ARR patches when the beast tribe quests were implemented. But as time went on, people complained about not getting warning about being capped for the week, so the weekly tomes they earn will not be collected for completing the quests and will fall to the ground. I forgot the patch when they implemented the warning, but it came way after the Beast Tribe quests were introduced.
So this QOL will be unfortunately be here to stay.

Then a similar popup should be put in place for everything else that gives weekly capped tomes, such as roulettes, hunts, and the like. It makes no sense to only do it for this one.I believe that the warning wasn't on before for Beast Tribe quests back in the ARR patches when the beast tribe quests were implemented. (I'm joking to make a point btw, please don't do this)

I'm mad at myself for reading through this thread. Are you freaking kidding me!? This has got to be the IG equivalent of first world problems, but worst. How is this thread even a thing!? Lol OP April fools passed already man, move on. Just as this reply does not contribute to the discussion...the discussion itself contribute nothing period.
Well, you were certainly right about that part.Just as this reply does not contribute to the discussion...

Yeah I always wondered why there was some weird popup.
The system should warn the player if the he is 2K hardcapped but still has less than 450 this week. Such a warning would make sense.
Warning a weekly capped player doing a quest on Friday, when the next reset is Tuesday is rather unnecessary.
Either provide an optional toggle for it w/o deactivating ALL warnings (some are useful) or make the system more intelligent.
But this game has a lot of unnecessary popups and warnings. The 2K gil warning for the barber would be another instance.
You know what I hate? That big, honking, glowing retarded gold text that constantly appears on your screen when doing quests sending retainers etc. Ugh.. sooo useless.
