Necessary? Probably not for your average player. However there are definitely some players that have a lesser ability to keep track of their weekly caps (and remembering to check currency), than a goldfish has ability to remember things (and their memory span is 3 seconds). As for the warnings not appearing for the roulette, they don't apply to any tomestone (capped/weekly cap), and I think that's due to how they programmed the warnings (it doesn't look at their current caps, only what they have currently, as displayed in the duty rewards window and stuff). But for those players I just listed, something like that probably is needed. I wouldn't need it though. I usually remember to check currency!

And while we're at it, include a similar option for when I buy gear for a job other than the one I currently am. Gets annoying whenever I want to grab WHM gear and get a prompt saying "You cannot equip this?" Yes, I can. I just happen to be on WAR at the moment.
Agreed. I could do with those warnings being removed too. I am quite meticulous in checking what I am buying.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

    I thought so.

Oh and before the "I don't get tome stones" excuse comes in to the picture - then that's your fault...not the game. If your cap'd...your cap'd. End of discussion. You should still get currency/ventures/reputation points from beast tribes regardless.

What it comes down too is your annoyed over a message reminding you that your cap'd...to say it affects you that badly is a bit of a melodramatic overtone.

I'm not against a check box of course to turn it off....but this is a bit over the top in my honest opinion.

So to use your own statement "Speak for yourself"
You are a very confusing. First you explain why the message is unnecessary, then you are trying to argue it is necessary?

"Are you still able to get your beast tribe quests done? Are you getting the rewards minus the capped limit on tomes?"
yes we do, we just do not want the annoying, unnecessary menu bloat.

This is exactly why we do not need the cap warning message?

Why not wait until tomorrow morning (9am ST) when the weekly cap resets, and hand it in then (it's still on the same day too, so you've not lost quests by doing it.)
    I refuted this already.....

literally pointless. As I said I'm tried of it popping up, that red warning appear in front of my screen, then I have to check my currency tab each time to make sure I am not breaking 2k at something. "in the end it's a line of text and you're acting like it shot your dog. " You are only saying that cuz you have a bias of it being useful to you, I am tried of seeing it 5-10 times a day. I KNOW I capped for the week, stop telling me! =/?
Even if you do make a mistake, it is not a huge loss, this is not the same lines of lets say.. buying the wrong gear with your tomes? Because if you do buy the wrong gear with tomes, you tossed away 1-2 weeks of work (though they could just make it like wow where you can sell it back within 2 hours, why this game does not have that is beyond me)

I would not want to see a warning about doing expert when capped already. I could be doing it for the lesser tomes or help someone, Yes I know I am capped with this useless message flashing in the middle of my screen 5-10 + times a day.

At least just have it in the log or something, get rid of useless dialog boxes and flashing red messages in the middle of my screen that do not stay there long enough for me to read. (I really hate that warning sound from hearing it so much)

And you know if they were to remove it and someone made a mistake they would kick up a huge stink.

Like I said, I am in favour of an option to turn them off to appease those who do mess up. But removing it for everyone period dot is what I am against, since there are some people whom it does benefit.

If it was to be added, it would have to be added as an option, like the option to remove these messages. if they added it flat out for everyone, I also would highly disagree with it. But an option (perhaps turned on by default to idiotproof it to an extent), that would be fine.

I Can guarantee that your wrong...to say otherwise is just silly and foolish.

Not so nice when I say it now is it....it's called sarcasm by the way...maybe you should not say such foolish things. Considering I technically agree that an option should be put in first place.

Pretty sure 90% of these warning were originally put in place due to people complaining that they didn't realize something, and either submitted a quest that gave tomes they couldn't receive more of/bought gear they couldn't wear/bought gear for a class they weren't planning on gearing up at that point. While annoying, I can understand why they initially did put it in(and it was probably an all or nothing solution they came up with).

That said, they could probably put something in like how a lot of programs have the "Tips of the day" which you can hit a check box that says "Never show me this again" so that those who don't want to see the warning could do so and never get the warning, but if they hit that and somehow get the wrong item/miss out on tomes because they didn't get the warning they have zero chance of receiving help from a GM/support(not that they really will do anything to my knowledge).

Maybe you should try reading it again and actually taking it at face value as opposed to putting words into peoples mouths like you do all the time lately.

Yeah I get that, I would not mind just the option as a compromise. They only reason I am debating like I am are those for people that have trouble understanding what I mean, and want to make insulting posts on top of that. (I think it is clear who I am talking about) that last bit is not directed to you.

As for removing it and people making a huge stink, how so? there is no benefit to this, they have in the currency menu "450/450" It is not like there is no way of knowing, and even then, I am not asking having it removed out of your log outright. I just want the RED QUICK MESSAGE that flashes in the middle of you screen with that sound to be removed. I am so sick of that noise. The other issue with that message that flashes in the middle of the screen vanishes TOO FAST! this is why I said I keep having to make sure I am not capped on the lesser tomes because it vanishes too fast for me to read.

anyone who would be against the option to turn it off is trolling.

conversely, anyone that gets THAT irritated about it has major issues.

And as Vstarstuck said, its just obnoxiously fast to have any value anyway.
