What else are you expecting to see when the lead dev answers a power question with a popularity argument? And if that's how they answer a question they receive, how do you think they react to feedback they receive? Do you think it's somehow not gonna miss the point? Their entire approach is wrong from the ground up.
They probably heard people's feedback and will make the map darker eventually. I wouldn't be so sure about anything else.
