Te be fair, I'd love having specialisation as a Bard, but I don't think actual gameplay could use this kind of awesome feature without becoming "The optimal Meta spéc' and the others" :'(.

But... Elemental wheel... Element special effect... Element specialisation... I kinda feel like there so more thing to do with this than just "match the good élément to hit/resist more".

Considering I'll play at best 2 jobs in "competitive" content, it still gives me plenty of other jobs where I could have fun with my build without caring for efficieny.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

True, would probably need a "build switching system" then. (Can't plays anything but my bard because... well totaly in love with it).

Given I have not played ffII as far as I remember, xi offer ws customization(merit points weapon skills not all of them are restricted to one job) but i have to admit this system kinda took a hit with aeonics giving ws without merit points spent in them & the fact that they now changed the % of the attributes modifier to where it no longer matter ;; sadface

I have posted a few times in this thread about my progress and if I liked Eureka or not. I did 2 relic sets.

I had low expectations going into Eureka, I got to level 20 and looking back the only time I had fun was with my friends being super low level getting 1 shot while I was working on my second set yesterday. The grind was boring, I expected the boring grind so I did not care.

I am honestly happy that the relics did not take very long as I am now able to enjoy other games.

I still stand by one of my earlier post in this thread Eureka is still boring and the rewards are not worth the time. "Oops I meant Diadem 3.0."

If you are behind just go do Omega NM. If you know somebody who is able to craft go get crafted gear. If you are not behind and do not care for a relic just continue playing other games.

Personally the solo-unfriendliness is one of the main things that are driving me away from Eureka - there are others, but thats a huge problem.

Its not about not wanting to play in a group, its about being flexible and doing things in my own pace. Its also not only solo-unfriendly, its also unfriendly when it comes to playing with friends of different levels.
You see, I'm part of a casual static - I'm not sure if you've ever tried that, but coordinating up to 8 people to fit a schedulde is hard.
Now, because of how the system works, you need to have all of the people you want to play at more or less the same level - or, in other words: If you want to play with your friends, you better make sure that you all are always playing together, which in turn requires a schedulde...
Or you go the other route, dont care about wether or not you can play with your friends and join random groups to zerg mobs. This might be a personal problem, but I dont really like to do that because it feels to me like I'm comitting to that group for a longer period of time. Depending on my role within the group, I might feel obligated to stay just so the other people can still progress (ala "I'm the only healer here... I cant leave them without a healer!") - that might be a personal problem, but I'd feel bad leaving a group after 20 minutes (just how I feel bad about leaving farm-groups after just a couple of kills, so I try my best to make sure that I have enough time before joining one of those).

Eureka could have been nice side-content, that allowed you to be flexible on how much you wanna play. Just have half an hour? Hop into Eureka, you can still achieve some (decent) progress in that time!

Its also not only solo-unfriendly, its unfriendly for smaller groups aswell - lets say there are only one or two friends on. It would have been great to be like "Hey, lets just do som Eureka until more people show up!" - obviously you can still be like that if you're either willing to only progress very painfully and slowly or recruit members within Eureka, which kinda circles back to the whole "not leaving a group/someone behind after 15 minutes" (with 15 minutes being the time it took someone else to log in and you all agreed you wanted to do expert)

Its not only the solo-unfriendliness thats bothering me. I dont need to play this content 100% by myself. I would have, however, liked the option to say "Okay, I'm all alone right now, I have 30 minutes - I can spend those in Eureka without having to bother anyone there" aswell as going in with (just a couple) friends.
Solo-unfriendliness made this content also unfriendly for flexible group-building.

Since 3.0, at least, the game has followed the same template patch after patch which is super boring by now. For eureka im sad i cant level anymore and that i am finished with the contend allready. Also for Eureka i would like the game to encourage chain XP partys more by reducing NM XP and increasing Chain XP. But its seems im in the vast minority here and most people do nothing but complain complain complain about everything and anything, teh community has become so whiny and salty i wouldnt be surprised if that will kill FFXIV slowly, it almost sounds like people whant it to die. In the end its just a game either enjoy it or stop playing if you dont enjoy it
what does ffxi have to do with liking Eureka? completely unrelated. Eureka is not ffxi, does not come close to ffxi, and people have yet to explain why they think so outside omg grinds omg exp loss. that does not make it like ffxi. I liked ffxi, I had more time for it then, even the old version of it before it entered easy mode. This black hole of resources called Eurkia has no feel of FFXI behind it outside some of the dropped glams and monster models. What you do there (game play most important) has no ffxi feel. What it does remind me of is yo kai watch, diadem 2.0, N than farming, and abyssea exp farming (tiny, tiny part of ffxi)

If you want to play ffxi so much why not go play ffxi if you do not enjoy ffxiv? that last sentence applies to you as well.

Expect people to complain when the development team says one thing, and does another.

That is my problem with it, it is never 30 minutes, it is always above 45 minutes. Usually me and my SO stay for about 1 hr and a half there. The only reason I can take it that long is because i follow my SO as I do other things. I can't feel progress doing just 30 minutes and leaving. it simply takes too long.

It would be a timer counting upwards from the moment the first person entered the instance and the new instance was created. This would be so you can judge whether or not enough time has passed for NMs to be spawnable again in that particular instance.
i am not sure how i feel about that, with the way some people post, that would be "hand holding" I do not think it was intended for people instance jump for NM trains.

lol claiming I have no proof, says the person that ignores main points and tries to stawman left and right. When you do not reply to my points, yeah I sound like a broken record, that is why I was getting frustrated with you and said what I said.

So, yeah, a tiny tiny part of FFXIV has a feeling from a tiny tiny part of FFXI, that I personally liked a lot.

I can live with most of it, but the culling. The way they are doing it makes it almost impossible to play at times, with the Boss going invisible along with seeing the aoe's after they kill you, with no chance to dodge or run.
