As of now I don't think it'll last considering the speed on how you can get the full reward, however I agree that it'll be a success based on the support the devs make on it.
Potd wouldn't have lasted without updates and tbh diadem would've been salvaged with real updates.

In short post-launch support will determine the success or flop of it

Probably not. Once I get all the weapons and gears for the classes I care about I'm going to abandon ship back to the main game with just about everyone else I imagine.

I'm actually surprised at how much mendacity the NM fates give. Not a bad way to cap if you don't mind doing the train anyway. Experts and other things will always be faster, but if you can't stand doing dungeons anymore after capping for years, it's not too bad of an alternative IMO. The boxes can also drop tier VI materia, clusters, and you can go to the goblin toilet and possibly change all the junk materia into something better.

All of the above depends on people not abandoning it, though.

Eureka will keep me busy for awhile. It's finally something to do when instead of just AFKing when I have nothing better to do in game. I want everything for all my classes and it will take quite a bit. Then I'll be done with this content until they add gear upgrades.

If they play it right and use Eureka as a platform to build on and integrate high and low level play instead of tacking things onto the side, I think so.

They should do the same than the upgrade token from the 24-man raid.
The current steps require Anemos Crystal.
The next steps will require new Anemos Items and Items from the next Eureka
The steps after, etc...

It's not that hard to create stronger monsters in an existing zone.

My money is on it will die in a couple more weeks so I grinded my heart out and is almost down with it now which is why I wouldn't have to worry about the popularity issue

Basically never mind a few weeks from now, what happens a few months from now? A year from now? This is not content designed for the long term.

I mean you could say this about basically every content they've done.
