Personally the fact that if a high level player groups with a low level players or intervene on giving an hand in killing a monster, prevents them to get ANY reward from the kill is Objectively a pretty BAD glaring design.

@SE since you are adding an hotfix Eureka at the end of the month pls reconsider this stance, because ppl starting like on this content will be completely gimped on this, this is not a question of whatever you like the system or not it is objectively bad since it also goes against the social aspect of Eureka as a whole

Looking forward to more positive changes! now I'm going to save all the loot boxes!
They're just going to flip flop the fireworks and eurekan potion drop rate.
At least it's better than fireworks though. Potions are actually useful.

XP from singular mob kills is practically nonexistent anyway. The only reason to join a party is to have more consistent raises and contribution for Notorious Monsters, which are a majority of your XP.

Even at an impossibly high 600xp/kill, you'd need to kill 11 enemies to beat say, Calisto's xp. So how fast are you actually killing those enemies? Let's ignore that I've never seen above 400xp/kill while solo yet alone in a party, even on high chains and on the Zus or Monoeyes, and let's say you have a team of some top tier players pushing some 99% dps. You all just happened to queue into the same instance and partied together. Are you really killing more than 1/minute? Even with AOE, and lets also ignore that most high level mobs like monoeyes are simply too large for most jobs to AOE effectively, you would still struggle to beat the xp/minute of a low-tier fate like Calisto, let alone consistently.

And that's the crux of the issue. Difficulty. Yes, it's possible to have very high xp/minute, especially with coordination, different parties farming different mobs across the map (also note that only the high level players grinding mobs would be getting "real" xp, if you could even call it that, from those mobs"). Oooor, it's much easier to just /shout at the 50 players in the train to go to <flag> and kill X. I could go across the map and farm a 20 mob, or I could just sit with the train and guarantee myself the NM. The potential for XP is higher if I go grind then go to the Fate, but it's not as easy, and has a very high penalty for failure, even death. Whereas sitting in the train almost guarantees you'll never suffer the death penalty, or score lower than gold on the NM.

I know how levelling works, but some1 starting at lv 1 now or next week will be severely crippled because their only option will be farming themselves the first levels from low level mobs, while a high level players could've boosted them to lv 5 in about half an hour.

It's not about xp/hour per se more about the fact that you cannot play with friends because of this system and that's it's glaringly BAD

There is nothing TO give a chance here.
It's an island with trivial mobs you faceroll for hours. The mobs drop crystals that can be used to buy outdated gear.
That's it. That's the entirety of the braindead gameplay.

That is F2P asia-grinder level game design but not worthy of a monthly subscription. For that I expect somewhat more engagement.

Trust me, I wanted to like it and I wish it was more involved. I was looking forward to having a new long-term goal like the relics of old. But I am not going to waste countless hours of my life MINDLESSLY facerolling trivial quest mobs while watching movies on a second screen so I do not fall asleep due to boredom.

Why is that "impossibly high"? You do realize that's a whole lot closer to what we SHOULD be getting in a party going after "incredibly tough" mobs if we're going by FFXI standards, right? I mean, if anything, with how the TNLs get later on, it could stand to even be a lot higher than that.

I want to love Eureka (I do adore the scenery) but actually I hate it! I'm burned out on FATE grinding in this game, and lo! Eureka is just more FATE grinding w/a dif. name. It's difficult to find other players at ~ same level who want to chain and fight level-appropriate Notorious Monsters rather than blindly zerging along.

    Two suggestions:

    1. As an additional homage to FFXI, please let us level sync in a party!

I have friends much lower & higher leveled than me and it'd be nice to be able to party together and help each other without totally gimping each others' EXP gains monster chains because our levels are so disparate.

    2. Any way at all y'all can change the game's coding to prioritize loading Monsters and Party Members over everyone else? The way the game culls models has been an issue for ages, and it's particularly awful here where there are NMs that spawn adds and things that you can't see because they don't render unless you're right on top of them.

    My 2 cents:
I tried to enjoy Eureka for a couple of days but failed. For me the problem is probably the games combat system. I've actually enjoyed grinding mobs in several Korean MMO's because the fighting was much more smooth and fun in those. FFXIV combat isn't enjoyable enough to carry content on its own, it needs other elements such as boss mechanics to become fun.

    +zergs are a turn-off for me.

But it's not the end of the world for me if I don't like Eureka, I've got plenty of other stuff to do. I hope things remain that way and that the focus doesn't shift more towards Eureka.

Fossil Dragons give around 700xp at high chains.
    And that's a night-only mob.

What we should and what we are getting arent the same.

my only real complaint with Eureka is the lockboxes, which they already said they plan to fix in a future update. asside from that i have no problem with it. it's the first relic quest that didn't force you to grind out old content to keep it "relevant".
