Well that wasn't my experience of it. Everyone was going nuts for the combat. It was great.
Re-reading I can see how I should have worded it a bit better.
Back during the beta on the forums whenever I, or others, mentioned the shortfalls of the game and how there was fundamental system issues we got screamed to "Don't play if you don't like it". I'm seeing a lot of the same rhetoric and arguments from then as I am now for Eureka. And the big implication being they were wrong then just as they were now.
Exactly this. Thanks. No he's implying that blind defenders of a game create a situation like 1.0 by stomping out discussion. The last thing a developer wants is for their players to be told to leave and that they aren't wanted by zealous members of the player base. Remember, this is video games! They're trying to create something fun and improve their product, and the only way to do that is with feedback. That said, ideally feedback is a little more detailed than "I don't like ______" so that developers can better know where to look.
You put it better than I managed to stutter out.

Didn't you know? People aren't allowed to have fun in Eureka. Fun isn't subjective and you can only like one kind of fun (which isn't Eureka).
I actually like Eureka, as it gives me something to do that isn't just Expert Roulette once a day and maybe Rabanastre if I feel like it. I should probably get around to doing Sigmascape normal but eh.

Appreciate the further context. I don't think Alleo is arguing that you should "just not play". Just that someone posting that they're NOT going to play anymore IS feedback and people are saying "OK LOL BYE" as if it's not. It's not very specific but the OP did specify that they didn't like just "mob mashing" which is an example of the undesired content they're avoiding. It's not super constructive, but it's got points.Re-reading I can see how I should have worded it a bit better.

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
No the last thing a dev wants is losing the majority of the playerbase. While its better for them if nobody tell someone else to quit, they most likely don't care about 0.01% of the playerbase telling 0.001% of the playerbase to quit.
I mean come on do you really think the last thing you would want if you were a dev is Sesera telling Darty123 to leave?

That might be the most pedantic post I've ever seen. At that, if we're going to nitpick, I'm pretty sure the last thing a developer wants is to die a painful death. No the last thing a dev wants is losing the majority of the playerbase. While its better for them if nobody tell someone else to quit, they most likely don't care about 0.01% of the playerbase telling 0.001% of the playerbase to quit.

This was fun! I'm glad we could really get to the bottom of things.

Many people who were hanging on by a thread viewed Eureka as a make it or break it point for them. They desperately wanted new content, something different than the same thing we have been getting each expansion and patch. They even accepted less dungeons, smaller raids, and fewer side quests to get the new, innovative content. When they saw that it was essentially Diadem 3.0, they were crestfallen, heartbroken and exasperated. The final thread broke, they all came here and to Reddit to vent and while some will leave, others will go dormant until 5.0. They wont trust the rest of the 4.X series because it will probably be more of the same unless a miracle occurs.
The way things are starting to look now, I am VERY worried about the future of this game. If this was a cruise ship, you'd see people starting to mingle around the lifeboats, most not ready to get on, but definitely making sure they know where they are. Translated: Many people are looking for other games now, whether they come back is up to the devs to figure out what innovative gameplay the community wants.
If only they had a method of polling the community... if only...
In 3 days of play my FC group and myself have 3 +3 weapons and are well on our way to lv20.... People are making Eureka out to be far more of a grind than it really is. Learn how to spawn NM and kill them for xp and crystals. I've had more conversations on discord thanks to Eureka than in months prior to this content.
