Can I have your stuff?
Its kinda funny..if people post that they dislike the way that FF14 is right now, people will post that they should stop playing the game then. Now the OP is going to stop playing the game because he did not like the current content and yet we have a big amount of people telling him how he should not post it or threaten with unsubbing..I mean I know that this might not be the same people but why should he not unsubb if he believes that the game is not for him anymore? Why should he not post about the reason for him unsubbing on the general forum, when you have no other means of telling SE why you are truly not playing anymore..
Him posting does not hurt you, will not suddenly make the content you enjoy bad and it will not suddenly destroy the game. So why do you need to post those posts like he is threating your own life? Maybe SE will read this thread and maybe not.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
The people you're describing, I truly think are doing more harm to the game than they realize. It was the same arguments and mentality I saw on the beta forums of 1.0. And I think we all know what happened next. Your wrong with what people like. Most people like causal content. Only 15% of the people ever complete EX-Primals and Mysthic Raids. They can afford to lose 15%. If they start making content to challenging then casual like you tend to Label them would go to another game all together. The can no survive losing the "casual" player base.

The fate train? You mean those 85% of players camping watching Netflix while the others 15% are killing mobs of the area for them so they can participate to the fate? So much fun indeed....

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

Gamers do this really stupid thing where they rush to defend multi-billion dollar corporations as if they have a personal stake in them. I've posted this sentiment repeatedly on these forums, but everyone seems to conveniently ignore the fact that A Realm Reborn only exists because of consumer feedback. Not only that, but players are actively encouraged to leave their feedback on the forums by customer support representatives, and the developers and community representatives repeatedly make a point of mentioning that they are monitoring the forums for feedback.
But it's a lot more fun to post "Can I have your stuff?" and "Bye" instead of actually curating and engaging in discussion.
No he's implying that blind defenders of a game create a situation like 1.0 by stomping out discussion. The last thing a developer wants is for their players to be told to leave and that they aren't wanted by zealous members of the player base. Remember, this is video games! They're trying to create something fun and improve their product, and the only way to do that is with feedback. That said, ideally feedback is a little more detailed than "I don't like ______" so that developers can better know where to look.
Edit: a little more context

That's not what I got out of that comment. People saying WHY they're quitting and then actually quitting has a huge and measurable impact with the added benefit of the developer knowing WHY they lost that customer. It sounds as if the person i was responding to is disagreeing that people doing this had a positive affect on the eventuality that was ARR. People quitting en mass was definitely a factor in their decision to scrap and rebuild.
