It's too punishing to solo and too punishing to help others catch up.
Scholar solo is a pain because we don't have the raw damage to kill fast enough. We can kill, without doubt, but nowhere near as fast as many (most?) other classes. Our main tool, Broil II, uses a lot of MP when spammed & the restore tools we have can't always keep up in order to get a good chain flowing. It's possible, but not player friendly like other jobs.

There's no incentive to help players of a lower level than you. Let's say someone has a very demanding job and won't get time to play until this weekend, when they'll start at level 1. They'll be left out of the content and give up before they ever even get started.

So Eureka was just Diadem all along in a new coat of paint? The constructive feedback would be to not waste time on content like this next time. You don’t promise something for a year and make it this tedious and downright boring. There’s no fun in this.

Armor should be i360. I don't understand why they chose 350, because 5 materia slots or not it's still inferior to 360-370 pieces.

360 is the perfect sweet spot. It gives non-raiders more options to customise their gear than just whatever the currently relevant tomestone gear is. It gives raiders potentially something to consider on the road to 370 (Bard springs to mind, the mendacity chest has awful stats). It's not irrelevant to the time of its much-delayed release.

    Repost from another thread

I played Eureka for about an hr. OK gains and the instance died out within a 20 mins and was until I left passing the hr mark.

And as I have read the feedback posts and threads here and reddit. It's not as bad as I was made to think before playing due to adulting but it is quite limited nonetheless.

    What it does right:

    + Being a cross-server field is great.
+ Progression can be done solo.
+ You can escape monsters so long as you can outlast the damage.
+ The field map is great so far.

    What it does wrong:

    - Being an instance because it's (apparently) the only way they can achieve cross server functionality.
    - While things can be solo'd, your best bet at progress is with a party.
    - NM conditions assume much more than what the life of the instance will grant (and Yoshi will then nix it or something)

What can be done to improve: (I go into armchair developer mode now >.>)

+ Make parties the default option, regardless of how you queue.
+ Add an option to give a 4 digit code to people to join your party/instance.
+ Find a way to always ensure the ideal number of people are within one instance.
+ Make NMs achievable even on the minimum of 24 people, both being spawned and kill-able. Scale things like you do with fates but please learn to SCALE DOWN, not up. if 100 kills are needed on ideal conditions, make sure 1/7th of that is required if the instance has 24(+/-) people.
+ Encourage to explore the field, not gate it behind imposed restrictions.
+ Add special maps like the Alexandrite stage of ARR for increased yields.
    - Remove the EXP penalty and De-leveling. Nobody wants this.
    - Remove fluff drops. People are tired of those from POTD. Make tokens instead to be traded at an NPC for the same rewards you want to keep at low RNG. Let us know that we can get what we want, one way or another.

After spending a good upwards of 8-9 hours in Diadem, I have quite a few suggestions to make this horrible mistake better.

    1. Variety. Add daily quests, a mark board for your level (make pockets of low level monsters on the other side of the island to encourage exploration), town defense, anything. People say you have to kill stuff 5-6+ levels higher than yourself for it to really get exciting, but as someone who did exactly that for 4 hours, it is the same as killing stuff on your own damn level. It's really f-ing boring.

    2. Remove the penalty for people hitting your mobs. It's extremely annoying when people run past you and hit it once, knowing full well what it does. At first, my group just went as deep into the island as we could to avoid people like that, but now as people are figuring out what mobs spawn what NM, they are filtering in.

    3. Let me summon my chocobo. This place would be amazing exp for it.

    4. Let me switch class outside of town.

    5. Likewise, give us unlimited mana board switches. All the limit really does (along with class swapping), is force you to return and waste your time running back to exactly where you were. It's a time waster. Nothing more and nothing less.

    6. Add PF in there. Good god, is it annoying finding a group. It's either you keep getting invited by lvl 1s despite you writing 6+ on your lfg or radio silence for the most part. What I have been having to do is instance hop looking for an instance that actually has a group my level that are doing bears.

    7. Just let me mount. Is the reasoning behind not letting people mount to slow their exploration? Well good job on that because you can just unlock the whole map in 10 minutes anyways. Not being able to mount serves as a time waster when you are running to and from town swapping classes or refilling the element wheel.

    8. Remove death penalty. 1-5 was all well and good. I actually did not mind running around and exploring during then. BUT DON'T YOU DARE DO ANYTHING after lvl 6 or you will lose massive amounts of exp. Seriously tempted now to sit in town and do nothing until NMs spawn because that death penalty is so massive.

tl;dr there is no way around it - Eureka is really boring and the only reason people are doing it is because of the carrot on the stick that is the lockboxes.
If this is what FXI was like, thank god I never played it because holy hell. What a killjoy.

After spending about 4-5 hrs in Eureka last night with fc and friends I've come to realize that this content could have a lot of potential if it was more than just a grind-chain, run to NM and repeat.

I love the idea of starting fresh from lv1 but the grind for the 1-3 isnt really worth it if you just wait for NMs to appear and get all your exp from that. And since players know how to spawn NMs the wait in between isn't that long.
I think Eureka would be better if players could also gain unique gear (not a reused asset) that you can use in Eureka, kind of like when you do the Songbird's fate your gear changes. You should be able to upgrade this gear with each level by using the crystal drops. Perhaps even have it tailored to jobs and be dyeable.

//sorry for double post, word limit.

For the map, exploring it was fun with my friends but after seeing everything I could it was just rather dull. If they wanted to make exploring fresh a good idea would be like making the landscape ever changing. Making tunnels in the cave area that appears at certain times to where you can fight mobs that give special drops. Mobs upon killing can open up a dimensional rift like maps. Literally anything that encourages more exploration. Or even using the classic day = normal mobs, night = harder and more dangerous mobs with better rewards. Have the environment change elementals by making some mobs weaker or more aggressive.

Just anything more than grinding out levels. Also please let me trade the glam gear I got from lootboxes, I have way too many shirts I can easily give away to people that want them.

I would've loved if they just gave us different things to do. This whole zone dedicated to just fighting monsters and collecting crystals, they should've incorporated treasure hunts and gathering. Solo able activities that would've reaped their own types of rewards.

Agreed, the healing only helps so much before mp starts to run dry.

We're probably the best at just running through mobs to get to stuff because it's pretty hard to kill us while moving if the fairy is out, one aetherflow is active, another one is ready to use, and dissipation isn't on cooldown. I can brute-force running lustrate across the entire map solo no problem.
