I’ve not once run savage while a particular tier is current; seeing this as the “new” way to a relic has upped my motivation to delve into savage raiding.
Savage can be frustrating when you keep trying to get the clear and don’t, but when you get the mechanics down (and so does everyone else) and it comes together, the first one is hugely satisfying, then after that if you are able to get a good group who can clear reliably, it becomes really fun.

Random loot boxes...because Eureka wasn't soul crushing enough. I love grinding mobs for ages to get a NM to spawn, putting in the effort to kill the NM, only to get a few measly sparklers and prisms. I can barely keep my eyes open and just opened 24 in a row - I had opened a lot more before this but this was my last hurrah before I pass out. It was all garbage. What a perfect metaphor for my night and for Eureka in particular.I'm not sure if anybody mentioned it, but do people realize that there are lootboxes with random rewards? They were prominent in palace already, but they still keep doing it despite all the controversies. So low EXP, mindnumbing grind without any changes to accelerate combat (if they got rid of gcd and made it a dynasty warrior-type gameplay, people might have been happier) and rare boss spawns that instakill you and drop lootboxes....I'm just happy it is entirely skippable and not representative of the rest of the game...

I wonder what JP people think about Eureka

Read for yourself, looks like the JP community isn't particularly happy with it either...

The fact that the weapons and gear are low level it's just grinding to get glamour pretty much. I will just try my luck with the mount and other stuff you get from there before it dies like Diadem

Grindy content without daily rewards / quests is bad design.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

First impressions: This is everything I hate about FFXI and now its in FFXIV as admittedly optional content.
I hate that your only option in the beginning is to grind and /shout for a party.
I hate that if people join in on your fight who arent in your party you LOSE xp.
I hate that post level 6 you lose xp when you die.
I hate that the drop is RNG and incredibly slow for items that are already sub-par.
I hate that it's dyeable old gear thats available with no effects.
I hate that I cannot summon my companion
I am not having fun in this content. I'll likely not be doing it very long.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Sparklers and materia being in lockboxes wouldn't be so bad if we could actually sell the new glamour and other highly sought after items on the market-board. As it stands, I actually have a spare helmet that I can't do anything with...

And also, I hate that it's an instance, at this point. At least it could've been nice to queue for stuff while in there!
