That is probably why! (lol) and they are still punishing us for the 1k flower pot fisaco of 1.0. Seems thats people who dont care about graphics go to everytime we ask for better options. WE GET IT, 1.0 HAD UNGODLY GRAPHICS THAT A REGULAR COMPUTER (at that time) COULDNT HANDLE. Stop holding it over our heads FFS!

Servers are not rendering or storing textures. This happens by the GPU on your local PC. A server is not streaming the game the PC/Console handles the graphics. Server limitations has nothing to do with it.
It's a policy limitation or some unwillingness to deal with the textures right now for the dev team for various reasons.

WE totaly need it,the game look way too old,even FF12 on Ps2 had better texture,and dont bring me your "not good for performance ble ble ble" a lot of game have great graphic,and pc can handle it,so yeah make it optional for those who can run it.

With all the EXTRA income SE is now going to get on top of what they already get, isnt it time to give back to us? We should really start hounding them about more graphical updates every chance we get. If they are going to keep charging us for simple ingame functions, then we should expect them to deliver on things we have been requesting since 2.0 launch! Maybe we should come together and protest for features and functions we want and not let them sidestep us or try to change the question or spin it differently to what originally was ask!

I thought the whole reason why they ditched the PS3 is so FFXIV can improve. Seeing the textures during the cutscenes made me feel like I was playing a PS1 game. If the rumours are true and SE is thinking of bringing FFXIV to the Switch, then I think all hopes for a graphic improvement is gone.

Agreed. The texture in this game is terrible and it wouldn't hurt for an optional texture pack. Hopefully it'll be offered to PS4 users too
