I whole heatedly agree with this. It'd be nice to see it as an option, especially seeing as how more and more PCs are able to handle higher resolutions. Plus with dx9 support going the way of the dodo, why not? I mean I have a 1440p monitor and man does this start to show it's graphical flaws. Also note that a lot of the in game textures are like what 512x512 or something of that nature?

Honestly though, this game looks incredibly dated due to the bad textures. I'm actually embarassed for SE when I go to show screenshots to my friends. I feel like I have to make excuses for why it looks so bad...

I don't understand why it can't be optional.

no thanks and bad idea! Imagine the high res texture: your PC or PS4 system has way more to handle than before for graphics and even more in raids with 24 people! The System can get behind resulting in Frame rate drops, game freeze, system overheat + damage, or even client crashes. and.. uhh... I dont want our nice game gets minutes of long loadscreens like FF15 has...

High res textures is mostly on VRAM. My GPU usage is around 60% and VRAM around 60% as well, loads of more space to add high res textures.
My GPU is around 55 degrees C while running this game, if I run a game that puts my GPU usage to 100% (FF 15 for that matter) it stays at 55 degrees C (with the help of dynamic fan curve).

Loading times are also pretty much instant, FF 15 loads in just over 10 seconds, that's not long at all. SDD's can be pretty fast, M.2 is even faster.
I played 15 also on my PS4 back at launch in 2016 and loading times where between 20 to 30 seconds which are acceptable (and that's on a traditional HDD even).


Something seems severely wrong with your hardware, maybe try to dust it out first? Even my PS4 cannot fry an egg.

We ask very often and its the same old song and dance. They ignore the questions or answer them in a way that relates to FPS instead of what we actually want. I understand FPS is major aspect to many but so is graphical qualities! There is absolutely no reason why they dont have extra options for people who can take advantage of them. Maybe during interviews there is a miss translation but I really doubt it. Hopefully one day they will add in many more options for the graphic side of the game. All we can do is keep bringing it up and call them out on it.

Hi-res textures hardly affects FPS when you have enough VRAM, because that's all it takes, VRAM.

I still think we should have an option with hi-ress textures!

I know im jsut saying what happens anytime a grahpical update/texture question is brought up. They always bring up and talk about FPS instead, it gets annoying sometimes.

The real reason is server limitations, because that's the only thing they can really come up with. Because reasons. And things.

But I would support a high res texture pack, I really would.
