I will conclude this thread with one word: Millenials.

BSM is one of the most brutal skills to level, probably only outdone by CRP and ALC. I can definitely see storing gear for that, even if not desynthable now.
People mention GC seals only to drill home that, insignificant and easy to get as they are, folks have just as much right to collect for that purpose as for any other. There are other reasons aside from usability and GC seals, and whatever the reason, who has the better "right" to the gear is subjective, not objective.
And let's face it - by the time they level that MNK, if they ever do, very likely the Byakko gear will be obsolete and good only for glamour, anyway.
There's nothing wrong with the loot system. If you want an item that badly, queue as that job or try and ask the group when you go in. Its that simple.
i didn't say they didn't.
but the whole game just uses one system. people PUG Savage now so should the system be changed for that?
when you use a bad example, it doesn't drill stuff home, it opens your position to be attacked. when you already have good examples don't bring up bad/irrelevant ones.
Who are you to say they can't use the item? They may want to desynth, or need company seals. Unless you ran as the class you deserve the item no more than anyone else. I think adding another button to the roll window is needlessly convoluted.
Just because they don't have the class doesn't mean they wouldn't do something with it. Eventually they'll be able to turn it in for seals. Or they may do desynth. When no one is actively on that class, then everyone in the party has the same right to Greed on the item.
Gunna go ahead and say no to this. They already have a system in place to circumvent this.Greetings,
Like many others, I've been doing the Byakko Ex primal. Doing so I noticed a flaw in the Greed system that I believe should be addressed.
A Monk weapon drops and we don't have a Monk in the group. Naturally everyone Greeds on it. However, the person who won said Monk item did not even have the monk job even unlocked.
I propose a 3 tiered loot system. Need, Greed-Usable, Pure Greed, and Pass. Greed-Usable would get preference over Pure Greed. This rewards those who have put in the time and effort of leveling various classes over those who have not.
In my humble opinion, someone who can't use an item should not be able to roll over someone who can use the item.
I propose an alternate system:
- Take - Immediately send to my inventory regardless of other people's rolls, usable for all drops, by only me
- Need - Stays the same
- Greed - Stays the same
- Pass - Stays the same
Got a better one - take: goes to me
need: goes to me
greed: goes to me
pass: no one gets it
Happens all the time, some players even just role on it as they are hoarders and want everything just to say they got it.
Everyone is allowed to roll though, as it should be.
Well not entirely true, this game has one of the worst rng systems ever. Some players needing to run 40 times while others can get a drop in 1 or 2 runs.
Arguements people always make about just make a group to me is weak, the point being one should not need to get a group together as that is the only way you can get your drop.
I have been playing this game for over 4 years and i guess got used to having bad luck but still pisses me off, lol
