SE: Please consider the following Greed loot condition

Sorry dude, but no. The person who is going to turn around and turn in your long desired glam for GC seals has as much right to greed on it as you do. The only adjustment that needs to be made is that you queue as the role that will allow you to select 'need' on the item you want. If it's a greed only item, then pass on it if you're going to have such a negative attitude. I mean, you've already accepted defeat, right?

Everyone in the queue is also after something. Maybe stop being selfish, and look at your contribution (whether you get your loot or not) as a means to help out the community.

So what if that person that does not have a monk right now wins the weapon, like its look and then levels the job to use it? What if the person that wins the loot because they have a monk leveled will never use it because the monk is not high enough and they dont plan on leveling it anyway?

Greed is greed...simple as that. Its there to give people the chance to roll on something that they dont have equipped right now and gives people the chance to get the item if nobody else wants it.

Simple solution: If you want a weapon ask the people if they pass on it. No complicated chance to a system that is fine right now.

From my point of view, you are the greediest person there who has all classes at the max level but no luck with RNG. ^^;;
And now you want SE to change their system for your greedy... lol

All 7 members from your party fight as hard as you. Is it really fair for them that they lose the loot just only because they don't have specific class unlocked and you use 'greedy-usable' to alt classes you don't even bother to use that class to farm from the begin with?
if you want all the-oh noone plays this class-loots go make pf for it or asking 7 friends to go with you. (I wonder if you still have some left after these runs tbh)

I've often gotten loot drops via greed and thought "I'll never level that class", only to pick it up a short time later and try it out. If someone wants an item though, I'll happily pass, and I've often done that when they have a class that's at a higher level than mine (i.e. they can use the item sooner).

If this irked you enough, you would go on MNK, request the drop in advance (people are usually understanding of this because most people won't wanna bring their weaker jobs to high-end content just to be able to Need stuff), or make your own group where desired lots are called out in advance.

The system is fine the way it is, no reason to add bloat to it.

:: Run the instance as the class you want the shiny on.
:: Run the instance with friends who know that you want the shiny and will pass to you
:: In a PUG speak and tell the others you're after the shiny, most typically will pass if you ask and talk
:: Use tokens or what not if applicable to buy the shiny from a vendor.
:: When all else fails accept the loss with grace and dignity, remembering the world doesn't revolve around any of us in particular and re-run the instance and try again for the shiny. They do drop more then once.

Like many others, I've been doing the Byakko Ex primal. Doing so I noticed a flaw in the Greed system that I believe should be addressed.

A Monk weapon drops and we don't have a Monk in the group. Naturally everyone Greeds on it. However, the person who won said Monk item did not even have the monk job even unlocked.

I propose a 3 tiered loot system. Need, Greed-Usable, Pure Greed, and Pass. Greed-Usable would get preference over Pure Greed. This rewards those who have put in the time and effort of leveling various classes over those who have not.

In my humble opinion, someone who can't use an item should not be able to roll over someone who can use the item.

you can not turn Byakko weapons in for GC seals and you won't be able to until the item level goes up. it makes sense to hold on to them for glamour or desynthesis but it's crazy to waste an item spot for future GC seals.

Even if it's not for GC seals, they have the right to greed on it as much as anyone who is not on the job. Still brings me to my stance of if you want the weapon that badly then go on that specific job or get the 10 totems if it's byakko. It doesn't really matter what the person wants with it, especially if you are in a random party. I would get it if it was a savage party or end tier but something like a trial i don't see it mattering.
