My Opinion of the Little Ladies Day Event

My whole issue with this thread is the whole "if women have it, men should have one too". The glamour stuff, I agree with. But events and real life equivalents, I don't agree with in the slightest. This SJW crusade is in very bad taste. Like I said before, this goes doubly so with today's environment when you have the #MeToo movement going on.

However I think this game needs more glamour for cleavage, from what I've seen it's design is quite withdrawn compared to some character models/design out there. It does seem a little odd to me with LLD being the FFXIV representation of Girls Day on March 3rd that they don't have a representation for Boys' Day on May 5th. Although Boys' Day has been renamed to Children's Day so there is no boys only holiday that I am aware of anymore. If they were to implement it a great item would be a flag pole and carp to fly from them. It would also allow a means to provide male only glamour as LLD does for female glamour.

I don't know. I'm of European decent but have a traditional set of flying carp and stream from my time as a kid in Okinawa. My sister has a set of dolls as well for Girl's Day (or Doll's day). However this being a game there is no reason that SE couldn't add a Boys' day.

LLD does not provide female only glamour.
Each item we got from that event has either been unisex (or well, at least both genders could wear those items) or we got one female and one male set - and according to this thread a lot of people happen to like the male glamour set we got last year.
You can still argue that with all the cherryblossoms and the whole cute-theme it caters more to girls than boys, but you cant deny the fact that we are getting equal treatment here (and if only in numbers).

(Honestly - may would seem like a good months to have an event in though! I always feel like Valentines Day - Little Ladies Day - Eastern are feeling a bit "cramped", event-wise while there is this gap in May that they tried to fill with the GC "Make it Rain!" event the last two years)

Isn't that the point of equality, though? Everyone gets the same treatment? That should be a no-brainer whether were talking about a game or real life.

And you seem to be another person forgetting that character gender does not equal real life gender; the metoo movement isn't really relevant to this discussion, since we're talking about female avatars, who are often played by male players (and are ultimtely designed with male players in mind even when a female player is the one playing that character.)
