It does seem fishy, but you do have to give people a bit of time to decorate since it does cost a considerable amount of gil and/or time to furnish a newly bought house (possible they barely had enough gil to buy the plot and are broke now)...if a month later there is still nothing at all then yeah sadly I don't understand why people buy plots to leave them empty.

Decorating my house is on my to do list(its a long list, but its certainly there). Opening it up so strangers can peak inside is not. I mean ive got a couple trees up along with the garden, stable, aetheryte, and mailbox - so its not barren, but its not as done as it will be when im done working on it.

And no, im not on your server so none of those people are me. Although, if you were my neighbor(and played nights like i do) youd have seen me several times by now. Im there a decent amount.

First thing I did after moving was redecorate my yard to let people know someone was home. Took me two days to painstakingly replace all 289 furnishings inside though so had anyone wandered in...well I had nice walls/floors/light fixtures at least!

the npc with housing items are cheap. you can still CHEAPLY start decorating and most stuff you can craft is cheap too

But there are people, like myself, that don’t want just any furniture just for the sake of having something put in the house. While the vender items are cheat, some people have expensive taste and go for the harder to get stuff. Not everyone wants to waste Gil on items, even if they’re cheap.

it's not about tastes or whatever, there is still lots of lower tier furniture I use in my masterpiece creations because they work for the style of what I'm aiming for

the only thing semi expensive is the combed wool rug which you can dye for color. its minor when other rugs can fill that void until you are rich enough if you NEED that to finish

Is this ward 16? I have neighbors in the large plot. They have...two..fire lights outside and that's it. I've seen two people I waved to them and only one waved back. lol their house is kept locked as well. Your neighbors sound like my neighbors! To be fair though i see my neighbors of plot 30 often. They seem to run content together and craft by the market board.

Yes i finally bought the jute from my server and made me a combed wool rug. I had to have it in my bedroom. but I also agree, Heck there is even NPC furniture one could buy

I didn't need to buy more furnishings, I just needed to pull all the stuff that went into storage out and replace where it went.
