Part of me wish they'd lock people who left from coming back via transfers.

Curious, but why?

I personally can't fault anyone for jumping ship. The idea of available housing, a quieter server, being able to visit Ul'dah without a ton of RPers, not fighting with queues (at least an issue for ~2 weeks or so), along with the bonus transfers - not a bad deal if you had nothing strong tying you to Balmung.

Now, the people that constantly blame Balmung for everything on the forums? I'd be down to keep them away :P

Square's entire intent was to get people to leave Balmung to allow other servers to get population.

If the people that left Balmung just transfer back, we'd be back at square one. Only Square gets more Money from people spending to transfer back. I don't mind if they could sneak a character, or maybe get the freedom in another month or so, but letting them in right out of the gate is just gonna reset what square called a major problem.
