So...what would be the best strategy to get a plot that you've been eyeing? I have my eyes on a small plot in a lavender beds subdivision and I have never been through a housing rush like this. If I log out in front of the plot and log in right after maintenance how difficult or congested will it be? I'm assuming it'll be easier since i just want a small AND it is in a subdivision but I am still worried.

Do a test log out and back in, to see where the camera faces. Memorise where the placard is or adjust your char so that you log in with it in an easier place for you to remember where to click the second you log in. This time around, you won't really have the time to set up a busy status that was suggested for previous rushes.

I've been through it a couple times now, once in 4.1 and once in 4.2. There's a few things that will be different for you, since the wards are all active so you can essentially just log out in front of the plot you want. That will make things both easier and harder for you.

1. Create a /busy macro so no one can open trade/invite to party to block you from buying.

2. Create a plan of attack, have backup plots in mind nearby in case your chosen plot gets taken from you. Memorize the aetheryte locations and names and be sure to be ready to sprint to the next house if need be.

3. Be prepared for a queue logging in after maintenance. I recommend signing in with your credentials before the servers come up, then click on the "worlds" button to refresh the launcher as soon as the clock hits the hour. The button will appear for you to log in after that. That way you don't need to waste time trying to type in your info last minute.

Exactly everything Nerfworthy just mentioned. I went through the housing thing in 3.3 ( Or was it 3.5?) I was SO not prepared Then again in 4.1 and finallllly got a home in 4.2 I am very thankful and glad I do not have to go into battle this time around. But also if you happen to have Ninja unlocked as a class. Make sure you're on it, since Ninja's get a buff by default making you be able to walk/run faster than other classes, Plus the ability they have to leap a distance. Some people use it to leap to a plot and grab it. There may be some other classes with these skills as well but I can't think of any.

It was 3.3. How did you get a home in 4.2? You have not been able to buy a personal home since 4.2 hit. The first chance people will have to buy a personal with 4.2 is next week.

I should of worded it better I'm sorry. On Jan 24th I spotted a random empty plot in the lav beds out of pure luck so that was before the restrictions and I purchased it, then when 4.2 launched I relocated to my dream plot^^

Personally I would log into a ward that has the most plots available and next to the plot of your choice. If your plot is sold I would grab a plot fast (any) so i wouldn't be locked out. Maybe check see what is close and interesting before you log out the night before. And then depending upon your finances I would then tele to the nearest npc to check and see available plots and if any of my 1st choice were still available. If so you could tele to it and make a transfer if it's not sold but obviously that would cost you a lot more.

Like others have said you can now log out right at the house instead of an aetheryte like other housing rushes which makes it a little easier. Also make a /busy macro and stick it on ur hotbar for easy access incase someone wants to cheese u out of a plot a trade lock u out of the plot so his/her buddy can snag it over you.

If you have the luxury, log out as the maintenance goes underway to see who else is scoping out the plots and if your "dream plot" is around other empty plots that's even better.

Above all grab any plot because it looks like this FC/relocation first is the way it's going and you can always relocate the next ward expansion from that goblet plot that sat around all day.(<- that's what I did 4.1 and relocated 4.2)

Yay i'll have neighbors soon. My ward only has a couple houses bought up in it. 95% of the ward is empty.

I cant wait for neighbors either. My Goblet ward has 10 houses. I'm just hoping to get neighbors who actually like and enjoy the goblet and want to be there.
