Then they really aren't melee dps now are they? Ignoring the books and staves for the healers and casters, the only class that uses blunt based damage actively is still Monk. This is why we need another class that can use another blunt style weapon. As people have pointed out that could be hammers, or nun-chucks for example.

Once again in regard to the whole 'gunblade' thing, we have enough sword users to justify it not being a thing. Seems like people only want it because of how 'cool' it would be instead of practical uses. No thanks.

And technically I said 'actual blunt class', meaning one that actually has more than an auto attack. Technically.

The point that seems to be missing here is that while a gunblade looks like a "cool weapon", the abilities of people wielding something simpler can outclass them because of their skills.
If you look at how Squall plays in Dissidia, the original psp ones, he's very fast and very agile. They could easily merge abilities from both Squall and Cloud to make a Garlean Soldier type of job. The abilities of a gunblade job would hit multiple times each while having low enough potencies to not out class other jobs. It would be more fun to play than MCH at least lol.

My first choice would be Beastmaster, if they are able to think of a way to allow it to play differently than Summoner. And I mean besides making it a tank, healer, DoL, class/job. Bonus points if they give it a whip weapon.

Dancer is another favorite. It may put a new spin on healing that is not completely magic based. Chemist could also work as a non-magic based healer. Maybe give them a Mix ability where they can combo their weaponskills and abilities to create a variety of heals, buffs/debuffs.

For tank, maybe something rare like Viking. Perhaps with a warhammer weapon.

I want something different as a healer like a psychic or shaman type of healer would be cool or one that can be a hybrid like a red mage half ranged and half melee.

2 more tanks, 2 more healers. I dont care what jobs they are, they need to balance out this tank/healer/dps ratio by making more interesting jobs to play those roles.

    Stop making overly simplified classes.

pointless to reach 5 tank and 5 healer job... it become hard to create new interesting and very unique tank and healer.

    - Dancer
    - Gunblade job
    - mace job

since he don't want to bring blue mage it will be interesting to see where they go for the jobs

I never said they were melee dps, just that they wield a blunt weapon. Also Nunchuku aren't going to happen, as that was never truly a thing to begin with (it was an early game weapon in FF1 and didn't get anywhere near endgame after all) and we already have a martial arts job and it uses claws/fists.

I also said the staff and book wielders don't deal any actual damage with it, that is just what their weapons are classified as barring magical capacity.

Semantics aside, yes it is high time we did get another melee DPS that uses blunt weapons. Sure a Club, Mace, or Hammer-wielding job would be nice, I mean if anything we might get a Berserker job thats STR-based DPS that wields one, or even a whip-wielder, but I'm not holding my breath on any of it. Unless it's a brand new job made from scratch utilizing it I wouldn't count any jobs utilizing them as such in based on existing jobs from the series. Even Berserker is basically a DPS version of Warrior for the most part, or would be, which isn't too diverse.

As it stands now all jobs have something unique they bring into the game. However, after 15 jobs options are running thin. Dancer and Blue Mage are the only 2 left that can truly differ from the current 15 jobs. If SE isn't opposed to using jobs that conceptually speaking resemble existing jobs then we have plenty of possible new jobs, but if not... Well let's just say have fun imagining what they create from thin air :P

The jobs I want to see added are Blue Mage, Dancer and Time Mage.

Blue Mage would be a tank with dual hammers.
Dancer a healer with dual fans or a jian and a fan.
Time Mage would be a range melee dps with a crossbow.
