[PC] Fatal DirectX Error 11000002

Unfortunately, every time I run FFXIV in DirectX 11, I'm greeted with the aforementioned error. When starting the game in DirectX 9.0c, the game runs for a few moments before visually lagging, going black, and starting that loop over.

I have reinstalled the entire game and tried multiple drivers. This problem only began after patch 4.2

Do you have any other programs or overlays active when you play the game? If so, I recommend disabling/closing them, even if it doesn't seem like it will interrupt the game.

I also noticed that there is a slightly more up-to-date driver for your graphics card. Have you tried that particular driver yet?

I've closed all other programs when trying to load into the game, and still receive the same error.

We've seen this issue a lot of Windows 10 (however it can happen on any Windows OS). Try to set it to Compatibility Mode (Windows 7 or 8 specifically).

Does the dxdiag you posted show all of your hard drives? Do you have anymore on the PC?

Hi, sorry to jump on someone else's thread. I can make my own if that is required.

I'm also having this issue. I can start up the game, log in to my character, but as soon as the game loads OR 5 - 60 seconds pass I get the same error.

I don't have any other programs running an overlay and disabled the ones that did.

The Graphics Driver has been updated to the latest version offered through GeForce Experience. No improvement.

I'd also join in with the same issue. I've had it happen once in HW and not again until 4.2, but the fatal directx error 11000002 crash is back since this patch. About once every 2 hours or so it occurs for me.

Thats with other applications running, and also with the game running by itself, the result is the same.

Nvidia drivers are up to date


This also has been happening to about half of my raiding static since this patch, so i believe this is a widespread issue with this current patch.
