    Gambits for squadrons please?

    Having played FF 12 now that it released on PC I was reminded of the beauty that is the gambit system. Could that please be incorporated for squadron use in XIV. It would be optional, since those who don't want to bother with it could just go with the current system. But it would give delightful way to adjust the squadron behaviour for those programming minded. And being just for squadron use, it shouldn't give unfair edge in any very meaningful way against other players. Anyone else with me on this?

    I mean, I would also love to see it for chocobo companion use but that might set players on different level.

    Actually I think it was mentioned by yoshi p years ago that they had originally planned to use the gambit system for the chocobo (and magitek) companion but ended up using the system as an easier way of scripting boss battles or something. I've tried googling for the article but can't find it.

    Back then we didn't have squad dungeons though ^^ I realise it would be more flavour than actually any groundbreaking contet but I just love that system ^^

    I would love for something like this. Give us a currency to buy more gambits and the like so the better they get, the more options we have.

    The current system that's in game right now is a HUGE pain in my arse. It sets off my OCD and I can't get through a single dungeon without at the least 1 death because one of my squadfarts likes to stand in an AoE when the boss is invincible and the healer doesn't act fast enough to keep them alive.

    I would LOVE it. I'm programmer myself and that can solve all problems with the squadron AI, such as the tank who don't hold aggro, the green DPS... Only Nanasomi helps me, it appears.

    Use those who already exists. I'd prefer buy it with Gil, but if I can buy it with GC currency, it would be great. Poetics? Hmmm...

    That happens with me. And when I tried Wanderer's Palace, they were killing the adds, disobeying the unegage command. And I always were killed because the boss always became too strong.

    They improved some of the AI during 4.2.

    That being said, a gambit system would allow us to customize based on how we personally prefer to play and what NPC's we bring, so I'd really love one.

    Even the gambit system has it's limit, as at least the FF 12 version lacks the possibility for double or nested conditions. So there might be some headaches with it. But at least then it would be just matter to solve them with what a have, instead of not having anything ^^

    It would be nice, but I'm not aware of any reason to actually DO command missions. It's just an exceptionally long dungeon run which rewards only a small amount of EXP to the squadron. The item drops aren't even worth it, since the dungeons are all low-level.

    It rewards YOU a load of xp (I went from 20 to 24 in one Halatali command mission) and you get to keep all loot, again if you run them to level classes. And even for squadron, it rewards less xp than a normal mission but doesn't take 18h. Also, some of us want to avoid pugs.

    That said their AI makes those runs hell, now I have no clue whatsoever what gambits are but any way to make their AI better would be much welcome indeed.

    I haven't played ff12 in years but are gambit those conditional battle scenarios. Like if a party member other than the tank gets hit the tank AI will taunt the enemy.

    Or if health falls below x the healer will heal with y.


    I liked those and it made the AI smarter.
