That was a glitch they fixed years ago. You used to be able to log them out while in dungeons, and send them a request while on the other char since it leaves your char in that instance. You can no longer send requests to them this way though.

Why be coy about it unless it's a way that breaks the TOS, then? If it's a legitimate use of a feature then there's no harm in telling people about it.

There WAS a way recently, yes. I don't know if it still works, rumor is they fixed it last patch. If you guys are curious, visit the reddit ffxiv forums. There's no 3rd party software or any sort of "hacks" but the mods are pretty ban happy here. No one will want to risk it.

Confirmed it worked for me though. I can now share my house with my alts and send them mail. It's glorious, literally a true quality of life feature.

I mean, I'll freely admit that I snuck mine in when the old instance dc/logout bug was still in, but I'm still honestly flabbergasted that such a simple feature isn't made baseline for us. Why do all these hush-hush workarounds rather than work on convincing the developers that it's a feature we want that they should add?
