Alt characters and housing

There is however a new glitch on which you can add an alt to your friend list to send mail and thus also your house.
You need 2 PC's for this, it involves logging into client on the other PC while on the old login you travel and have loading screen.

At least there are some glitches that you can use to bypass the 'server limitation'.

FTFY since foolish is hardly an appropriate word to describe this. And I do suppose having alt access to house functions is a definite plus but I assumed you could just grant them permission to do that stuff. Guess I was mistaken thinking you could do it with alts. Either way, if SE does decide to do this it will no doubt be in a future major patch.



The transfer of items in that manner is along the lines of the exploiting I referred to.

You do realize this is possible now right? it is just massively inconvenient for no reason. How is giving housing items to your own characters an exploit? This is how one defines being paranoid right?

Exploitation of transferring items aside (which is already possible with any sort of FC anyway) as they could well leave the furnishing right out of the alt rights. Just give alts automatically all the rights to "use" the house. Stables, vendors, bells, gardening and other such functional item use.

And teleportation. Since can't even friendlist teleport to my own house because no alts on friendlist.

Having your alts as tenants would go against their plan for putting less demand on housing by having friends share a house together. Adding a new group of owners(All owner account characters) on top of the tenant group for one house would put extra strain on their super fragile servers. They have to add new changes to their servers every patch while at the same time try to not add any unnecessary strain to it.

So just don't make alts take up a tenant slot and tie that house's ownership to the account? Why anyone would be against this I can't really fathom.

Just link house ownership to the account and not to the character, problem solved. No stress on servers no lists of owners no fancy stuff , everyone happy! (Ain't that simple I know, but well.. )

SE must compensate for the new housing limitations by allowing all characters under the same world and service account to "share" the house any of those characters owns, all of them must have full rights on the property with the exception of the relinquishing the land which is tied to the property owner!...

I doubt this could cause any more strain on the "fragile servers" because unlike tenants, alt characters cannot be logged in at the same time, only one character under the service account can be online at any time so problem solved!...

I support my alts living in my house. I also support them getting rooms FC style. Solves the 'my alt doesn't have the same tastes as my main' issue to an extent.
