♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
It isn't really exaggerated when you consider the broader picture. A considerable number of outfits and hairstyles are being marketed as 'unisex' but in reality are clearly targeted to appease those players who enjoy feminine and androgynous aesthetics. A lot of people have spoken up to ask about things such as more facial hair options for male characters and proper eyebrows for Highlander men only for there to be radio silence. Then, of course, there's the male version of the bunny outfit to consider. It was stated to be a thing that was being worked upon years ago and yet we've still seen no sign of it.
There have also been people stepping forward saying that the only reason they play a female character in this game is due to feeling like male characters are simply neglected by comparison.
Of course, whenever anybody does bring up the disparity between the male and female outfits there's never a lack of someone else swooping in to downplay any concerns, legitimate though they may be. Funny how that works - especially since those selfsame individuals are always playing female characters themselves.
Confusing and wildly unpopular opinion: I loathe the entire concept of rotations. There ceases to be any kind of individuality in gameplay when everyone is the equivalent of a robot; all pre-programmed with a specific set of moves for 'optimum DPS', usually taken from some guy/gal on Reddit posting along with some unfathomable chart of numbers. I adore spontaneity and instinctive gameplay - something which, for me, only a healer role really has in abundance.
As strange as this sounds, I agree with you. I am not a fan of rotations either because it locks you into one way of playing which can get stale after awhile. It's one reason why I like WHM because a lot if requires you to do things on the fly and adapt to a situation. :3
Not for sure if the other healers are more situation based.

And on the flip side to this, all of the Veteran Reward outfits were from the male characters, and there were no options for female characters at all.
I'd prefer it if they stopped the unisex stuff and gave male and female versions.
Unisex just makes everything look bland.
Is there a disparity? Yes. Do they owe males the bunny outfit? yes. Is the problem exaggerated? still yes.

You do realize the difficulty curve between current Savage and Ultimate may as well be Everest, yes? They are not remotely comparable. The whole purpose behind excluding phases or a fight behind Savage is to reward players who have the skill to clear hard content. Now I will agree, they didn't handle Kefka normal well, but that's something to improved upon later not punish the midcore by taking away Savage. My unpopular opinion?
I found the Kefka fight to be boring. As much as I like Kafka as a character, I felt his involvement in FFXIV was just shoehorned in to get people excited. While it was really cool looking, it just wasn't as exciting as I thought. To add to it, the lack of voices acting killed the mood for me a bit.
With that said, I feel like the fact that certain points of the fight are removed for savage ruined it too and that that aspect of the Omega raids going forward should be removed. Exdeath you can kind of get away with buy Kefka has always been a long, drawn out fight with multiple parts...the fact that God Kefka was cut and only put in savage takes away from the overall feeling of the fight...and sure some people are just saying do savage but everyone doesn't have time to find a static or people they trust to do stuff like that. Remove savage and use Ultimate mode for the sadists out there.
I repeat my unpopular opinion from some pages ago: males don't need a bunny outfit. And on the flip side to this, all of the Veteran Reward outfits were from the male characters, and there were no options for female characters at all.
