I love male Roe healers!

I do as well, but they're incredibly rare, myself included. People are usually shocked when I join a duty and they see their healer is a male Roe. At this point, I get excited just seeing a male Roe caster. Since there aren't any restrictions with race/class, I'm not sure why some people feel like "Oh you're a big Roe guy, so you should be a tank or melee DPS".

Did a Rabanastre run yesterday and was told that I look "hella dumb as a WHM male Roe"..... Coming from the Lalafell tank.

While I haven't encountered this myself, that'd be like someone walking up to my female Miqo'te character and claming she shouldn't be a DRK or WAR. (Probably even PLD) Then go and claim she should only be a BRD or maybe a healer.

I don't get it either. Anyone can be any race and gender for their character along with whatever job they want to be as said character. I mean heck, there's even a male Roe spellcaster in the WAR questline...

So I say keep the Lala tanks and healer Roes coming!

Was farming mentor roulette yesterday and got Garuda EX. Completely fresh run. There were 4 mentors total in the run. The DRK mentor explained the mechanics, and away we went. One shotted it. Definitely the smoothest synced EX run I've seen in a LONG time.

Another one I got was Ramuh EX, unfortunately, this one didn't succeed. But all three of us mentors stuck it out until the bitter end, helping people learn and practice the mechanics(only had one DPS leave the party the whole time...took almost 15-20min to get a replacement though). Hopefully those that were learning it can use that practice to get their clears.

I have to concur with the above response to you. I'm a healer and I have one - it's hugely helpful for all raisers to have them. It helps to prevent double casting and swathes of MP being wasted. If there's no raise macro then I have to constantly watch cast bars, which in the middle of a semi-wipe where multiple people need to be raised is the absolute last thing you want to be doing. It also helps with swiftcast management. If I see the other healer start hardcasting raise and I have a swift, I'll quickly swift and raise with my polite <se> macro so they know they can stop casting. Nine times out of ten they'll acknowledge the macro and stop. Raise takes a very long time and a lot of MP to cast, and the least time possible spent on it is better. Macros are a huge aid to how healers do their job.




And so commence-eth story ...

The other day I landed in Tam Tara with a bunch of newbie buds. I'm a confident healer so I encouraged the newbie tank to pull a COUPLE of groups at a time if he was comfortable to help him get used to tanking large groups for the future. He proceeded to pull absolutely everything up to the first boss which is nearing twenty mobs. I didn't touch my DPS skills, I was swiftcasting, lightspeeding, largressing, cure-bombing the utter bejeebus out of him, but once I was out of MP, the low DPS of the other buds had barely managed to kill ten of them and consequently we wiped.

I honestly wouldn't have minded, but for the following exchange:

I said, 'Lol, yeah, I said a couple, I didn't mean that much, you're still a level 19 tank with no job stone '
To which he replied, 'you don't DPS, you heal - you healer!!!'.

FFFFFFSDKFHS%%^&seAW!?!ESFE!!!!!!!

That's the last time I try to be helpful to newbie tanks.
