Housing suggestion

I have a suggestion, I’m sure you’ve heard before, but it might help improve the Housing issue. I know you just added Shirogane so now there is 4 areas to live in. I don’t think we should add more wards. We should add new areas to live in: Ishgard and Ala Mhigo. Honestly, don’t know why we don’t already have housing in Ishgard, but I believe the more areas that are available for players to chose from other than just one new area, could really help. I know a lot of players dream to have a home in Ishgard and I believe with the rebuilding of Ala Mhigo, it’d be an awesome idea for us to be able to live there as well. If you don’t agree, I respect that, but I am only putting in some ideas to help the frustration cease. Maybe others have different areas as ideas for housing. Also, if this is taken into consideration, it’d be really cool if they put out a poll to see what areas players would like to live in! Then the highest two could be added in future patches (not all at once of course)

I would love a house in Ala Mhigo. They could have it somewhere off the Ala Mhigan Quarter and have areas reminiscent of the Royal Menagerie Gardens. It would be so cool! And while I hate the snow, I know plenty of people would love to live in a snowy Ishgardian home. Though adding new areas would take a lot of resources, but it seems like at some point they were planning on doing Ishgardian housing (then it got scrapped), it would be nice if they could go back to looking at that. Of course are this point it would be adding 18 new wards if they added a new housing district. I think adding 1 new area would probably alleviate a lot of congestion for most wards (1080 new houses, 3240 new apartments). Though with how much flack Goblet takes for being a desert and boring and such, I'm not sure others would share my love of an Ala Mhigan home.

I’m sure there are some who wouldn’t like it because of the desert, but unlike the Goblet, Ala Mhigo could have griffins guarding the area as well as Anata merchants. Swimming areas could have the beautiful trees we see in the Fringes. And if people don’t like that idea we could suggest other areas for players to want to live in. I know I’d love to live in The Ruby Sea!

I doubt we'll see Ishgard housing until something warms the area up. The furniture for the most part is designed for a lush environment and would look fairly out of place when everything else is topped with snow. The lore prevents a lot of these areas though simply because Ishgard is trying to get their whole system in order after a huge shakeup and Ala Mhigo is barely on it's feet. I don't think they're going to be tossing land to random adventurers when they have their own people to house. Something to hope for in the future, along with wards consisting of a more larger houses than smalls.

I wasn't even thinking of the area itself, it is kind of a dull landscape. Might be a good area for an instanced plot, but not sure sure if investing real money in designing ward there would be good. Maybe with the trade between Ala Mhigo & Ul'dah there could be some influence on the Goblet to update it to something more alluring.

It’d be cool if they added Ala Mhigo later on when it has been rebuilt some, but I see what you mean. And what I said about The Ruby Sea, I didn’t mean on land (although that might be kinda cool, even if it was an odd barren kind of landscape) I meant in a bubble under the sea, but that might be just something I’d like, haha. Other suggestions are welcome! These are just some places that came to mind.

I think Yoshida has said something about how he wouldn't want to live there unless it warmed up, so you're probably onto something there.

Personally, I'd love to live in the beginning parts of Dun Scaith where all those houses are. If they were ever to do instanced housing, I'd hope that they would be creative and use places like that where we could enjoy places in game that have houses that we could move into. Other thoughts I have for instanced housing locations would be places like Revenant's Toll, Idyllshire, all the main cities, The Doman Enclave (obviously we need to help rebuild it first), and The Ala Mhigan Quarter.

I understand Yoshida not wanting to live there.. but I’d love a castle in the snow. Every time it snows in game, I absolutely love it.

So would a lot of other people I know. I hate the cold weather and snow, so I wouldn't want to live there either, but I'd be ok with bundling up to visit friends there. ;-)

Haha, me too! I just don’t think it’s fair to say that just because he doesn’t want to live there means that it’ll never be available for players with other opinions.. it’s not a game just for Yoshida-it’s for everyone. (I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, just my opinion ^^’)

If they add Ishgard housing but without the snow I suspect nobody will really want to live there. I feel like they should just add outdoor furnishings that fit a snow environment whenever they add it.
