Honestly at this point unless they do a complete overwhaul i think you who dont got a house just gonna have to accept the fact you either have to make a small FC or buy a FC with a house. I know it not allowed but its what its coming down to if everyone gonna get houses.

We know there's a perfect system. It's instanced housing. Almost every other MMO with housing uses it.

Like literally. It's like they are trying so hard to make a community but it is creating more segregation and hostility.

SE can't even clearly decide what they want housing to be. If they provide a limited number and not everyone playing will be able to get one then it means housing is a commodity and needs to be treated as such. In which case they need to embrace it and allow and facilitate the trading of plots and houses. If this is the case then housing should be purely cosmetic, there should be no personal benefit to owning a house, which means the npcs that sell materials, the airships/submarins and chocobo stables need to be separated from housing.

The people with WAAAAAAAAAY too much money might buy a few houses at first but then what? they won't get anything out of it except more money if they sell, which they don't need leaving it to be available for the people who want it purely for the joy of owning and decorating their own home. Yeah some people will still buy and sell land trying to make money but it won't be the super rich who have nothing to do with their stupid amounts of gil.

Conversely if they want housing to be rewarding in some fashion beyond aesthetics they need to make it instanced and available for everyone, then gate the usefulness in some fashion, either in time spent or gil spent. The super rich people will have an advantage but not an insurmountable one and eventually everyone can get to even footing if they care to.

What I would do is make FC housing instance based. Every FC can have a house it's just gated behind paying/working for the luxury and usefulness. Then make private housing purely cosmetic and make it a tradeable commodity.

Its not about just adding more houses but the kind of houses people actually want. Its not a coincidence that that the Goblet is the most empty ward and theres tons of smalls left even though alot of FCs are still saying they want houses. Seems like the priority for alot of people is Large>Shirogane>medium. People don't seem to want to settle for a small plot and current house owners had plenty of time to save up gil for upgrading to med/large. Only having 6 Larges per ward seems like another mistake on top the pile that is the whole housing system.
