You do know that the Amatsu set can go in the armoire, right? >x>
Most of the seasonal items you can buy from the Calamity Salvager can be put inside the armoire (other then a few older items and quest-related items).
- Glamour dresser as furniture item ASAP
- job-specific plate instead of having it overwrite glams (so tank gear could have different glams for each tank, for example)
- increase storage limit over time
Being brutally honest, these are all the QoL the dresser needs to be good enough when they add the furnishing (which we know they will)- The Item limit needs to be boosted. I only put Healer Items with no Job Restrictions and items that all jobs can wear (mostly level 1 glamour gear) and I still have a retainer with 90+ items (mostly non-healer stuff and Job-restricted gear). They don't need to increase it by that much, I think, maybe 50 slots and it should be good enough for people to downsize (although, you might need to increase it with new expansions).
- Naturally, increase Glamour Plates too. I think 15 plates might be a good max amount of plates.
- Put a Calamity Salvager in the Residential Areas. Yoshi-P wondered why people didn't utilize the Calamity Salvager more and I think one of the reasons is that they aren't readily accessible. Having one in each Residential Area could help. Also, maybe a Vendor that sells the starter race gear and hempen set too.
- Going onward, let Mogstation items be in the Armoire. I know that you can't change the items we currently have now because people (myself included) have already put those items in the dresser but going on, it would be very nice if you just automatically put these items in the Armoire. (Also, make sure that IRL event/campaign items can be put in the Armoire as soon as they are accessible in game, please.)
- When doing the search inventory feature on the Marketboard, make it so items in the Dresser show up too.
- Give us a way to clear an entire plate. This will be helpful when making a new outfit.
If you say so.
In addition to the things listed in OP's post, I also desperately need a glamour dresser furniture item available for player housing! I HATE, I repeat HATE having to go to the inn!
It should work that way if they connect the plates to gearsets. Each time you equip the gearset it would apply the relevant glamour to the gear.
Here is my suggestion:

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.
Let me cross glass glamour. I was hoping to be able to wear, say, BRD gear while playing WHM and hearing that's it's essentially just as restrictive as the former glamour system killed any hype I might have had.
Don't know if anyone else feels the same, but make it so that dye doesent get removed when you store something in your armoire.
Because of how they've set it up, the final result is still item A glamoured as item B (and the system doesn't see it differently because of how you applied it), so is still bound by the same previous rules of whether the glamour will appear or not.
They definitely need to change those rules, but I think that's a different part of the system that the glamour plates can't fix.
Nice as it would be, especially for players that have already applied valuable dyes to armoire items, as I understand it, you can dye the items once they're put into a plate (or possibly just in the Dresser), and still achieve the same function. Definitely sucks for players already established, but new players/items going forward, things should be easier.
Just sorta trying to say that, given how they want the Armoire to function (minimal data usage), maintaining dye information would put a hefty dent in that goal. It'd be kind of them to allow it, but is something I think they can justify denying.
