Now, I'm wondering if I should push more. I can't keep all of a set of long fights in my head from watching a guide, and I avoid new 24-player raids (the Royal City guide melted my brain), extreme Primals, and savage raiding stuff. But I will need to try some new things to have a chance at better gear and to find avenues for improvement. I've unlocked Royal City and the extremes of the new Primals, and was on my way to unlock sigma normal, but I'm not sure which is best to start with for an over-achieving casual who has had good luck for the last 24 hours.

Definitely push more. You dont know what your limit really is if you dont try to stretch yourself a little. So my advice would be to get into Sigma normal. A quick glance at your gear says that you probly only need 2 or 3 upgrades to hit that level. When you cleared Raba you should have gotten a coin, and one of the NPCs in Rhalgrs will trade that for an upgrade material to take one of your 330s(creation pieces only, not raba drops) to 340. And with all the new stuff youve been doing, youre probly swimming in creation tomes. Sigma will let you get your hands on some 350s, and your first mendacity piece(360) shouldnt be too far away. Once you feel your gear is ready, you can look for a learning party for either Sigma savage or an extreme primal and see how you fare. Best of luck!

Edit: Almost forgot. Dont worry about learning from a guide. A lot of people cant do that, and need to try the fights to put the pieces together. You can look at the guides as just a set of things to look out for, and learn by doing if thats what works best for you.

Got bismark hard yesterday.Spotted a sprout and 2 returners.Was another 2 mentors also in the group.Everything went fine till snake phase.They werent tanked properly and dps and healers decided also not to avoid the pockets of wind etc.
Party eventually wiped.Both healers who were mentors left instance immediatly after followed by 2 random dps.The 3 left were yep,The sprout and the returners.So we wait for it to fill up.A few other mentors show up.I explain how to tank the snakes to both the tanks before we start again.Everything goes fine nobody dies.They get their clear and say thanks for explaining.
Im getting sick of seeing people who wear the crown insta rage if they see one fail.

You're not alone in that. (Mentor myself) - Getting fed up with egotistical/elitist mentors.

That's really sad. I think it's because most mentors become such not because they actually want to help sprouts, but only for the rewards. And being nice is not really a requirement for becoming mentor, unfortunately (300 comms on 1000 runs are a joke, too, and often you don't need to be helpful to get them).

Sadly, many healers don't res as well.
For example, yesterday in Void Ark at some point in my group a few persons were down, including the tank (I was playing DPS, and actually RDM but at 60 no res),no more big damage was coming in, situation was pretty stable and no other resses happened before (so no Swiftcast on CD). Neither of the healers was ressing. After a good while one ressed the tank. After another long while...the fight ended, and the dpers were never raised. I swear some people just avoid ressing or something, like it's a sin.

I don't save SC for just resses. If I see no reason that people should reasonably die within the next minute than I might SC Medica II or something else (Aero III or Holy in pulls for example). Sometimes people stand in bad and die 20 seconds later anyway, but then they have to wait 40 seconds for SC to come back up. >_>

:O I had my first experience of how hard O7 can be for melee. I main DRG here on Thyn'a, but I have taken to running everything as healer (Usually AST) and just gear up my goon.

I think the first day through my group wiped once. So it seemed really simple to me.

Second time through was on my BRD alt, and we wiped a bit, but it still didn't seem THAT bad.

And today I ran it on my tank alt as DRG. There is one aoe around the boss that if you're not moving the split second it pops, it wrecks you. Then we had healers that insisted on taking the closest yellow circles so I had to run across the room to get them. Going in with my main on healer again, I think I will only feel bad for any melee I see. I felt like a BLM, wanting to stand my ground to get in the deeps, but just having to run around like a chicken with my head cut off.

I really liked running O8 though.

Had a rough run of Sigma 4.0 (normal!!!!) last night. Nobody was dodging anything consistently, vulnerability stacks were high and whenever the stack mechanic came up, people insisted on planting themselves in the unsafe portions of the arena, causing partial wipes. I say partial cause I must've thrown out about 20 verraises during the whole ordeal and mana shift/lucid dreaming were almost constantly on cooldown to help the healers continue stumbling through. At one point I was tanking cause the healers let both tanks die! At the end I was the only person who didn't die at least once. It was madness!

Usually I can take these kinds of fights in stride cause hey it's just a game but I was already in a bad mood so this just broke me the night lol

On top of that, no commends at all (maybe the /examineself tilted them?) And no doll which was the bigger crime >:|

I should've posted it days ago; just a shout out to my party for Shinryuu nm clear (put up a PF and got a supportive group)

and to my party earlier for Sephirot nm, who helped me clear it through trial by fire xD sometimes I hate how DR catches me unprepared and throws me in unlocked duties that I had to go through them blind. our DRK was amazing.

Even if you don't save it (perfectly reasonable) would you still use it for something else rather than raise even after people are dead? I'm talking several minutes so it would have been off cd a bunch of times even if used constantly.

Was doing Deltascape 4.0 a few days ago. Healer didn't dispell Doom so one DPS and one tank died. They both got mad. Healer's reasoning behind it? "I didn't want you to have higher DPS than my friend."
