The only way to reach a point where this need is reduced is to increase capacity and also expand access to the Dresser system beyond the Inn. Once there, maybe then some of these players can move away from their need for manual glamour items. But we're not there yet, so it's perfectly valid for them to be concerned about having access to those items for manual glamour.
Now, personally, I still don't quite get why they're set on glamouring that way, but that's just because I've never been one to extensively glamour, myself, and so it doesn't really seem like my place to question how any player wants to approach how they use any system.
Currently I see the need to get back an item. If what we have is the final product (oh god please no) then yes, we NEED to be able to retrieve items from the dresser. But if the capacity is expanded and the ability to glamour NPCs with plates is added, there is then no further reason to have the retrieval. I'm actually referring to another thread I had where even when I presented the perfected system as a whole, people still seemed to either misunderstand me, or persist in insisting they were "losing" the items.

I get why people would want to change one item at a time , or even just have the pieces available at the market board to "demo" an outfit without buying the expensive pieces. I don't think we should squash what they want to do, but I think that some compromises on one side or the other will have to be made so that constraints with the game itself can be circumvented for expanded functionality or storage.

It's nice to hear that I'm not insane. I still cannot figure out what the attachment is to the items themselves for some people.
