Burned by New Glamour System (Didn't realize there were restrictions?)

Why would they implement something meant to replace the old system to allow multiple looks for your main gear set with restrictions on what you can make into glamour? Did they not consider that some people incorporate such items into their outfits?

Well, that's the case for me, and not just on some. ALL of my outfits used a mix of these apparently restricted items with non restricted ones, and I didn't realize this was the case, and now I basically have to choose which outfits to be able to go into outside of combat, with gaining no new outfits for my battle set. I essentially just made changing outfits more complicated and limited myself to only 10 outfits now unless I rebuy everything I just converted. (1/2)

I don't even feel like playing the game now. I spent gil to do this. I know many of you just won't get why something like this would make you not want to play, but for me, fashion is a huge part of not just this mmo, but any mmo. I'm so incredibly frustrated by this situation. And please, spare me the, "well you should of assumed the system was...," NO, I shouldn't. I shouldn't have to assume features are still in beta. If it comes to the main game I assume it's been tested to be a feature that doesn't cause frustration. Maybe if this was a F2P mmo, I'd have different expectations, but I pay money for this. I'm paying money to be frustrated. I don't even know if the item restrictions will ever be raised, or if they are, when they will be.

Here's an idea, if you're going to release a half finished feature, at least give an option to retrieve items upon finding out the system is incomplete and incompatible with fashion sets mixed with items you can't even plate!? UGH!! T _ T (2/2)

Pretty sure there are no items that can't be put on glamour plates. The system has (too many) flaws, but that isn't one of them. Are the items you're trying to glamour ones that can go in the Armoire? If so then there's your problem, they can be applied directly to glamour plates from the armoire.

Thank you for telling me! I actually just read that in another thread too. I'm so on edge though now... Is there anything else I need to be aware of before trying to use this system? I was so upset thinking my outfit pieces would forever be locked out from one another. u - u

It is important to know that you can only use those items that you put into the dresser with the new system, you can't glamour them using the old system anymore and you can never get the items back that you put into the armoire. I don't recommend putting anything important or expensive into it.

Honestly the only way I'll be using this system is with seasonal outfits for Xmas and such.

You should keep in mind that if you put items into the armoire they'll lose their current dyes. So that's another thing to watch out for, especially if they're dyed with expensive retainer/cashshop stuff.

Most important thing to know: applying a plate puts those glamours on your gear as if you'd done it with prisms. It's not an overlay you can take off later, so don't try to apply it over something you've put expensive dyes on or can't easily restore for some other reason.

You can also leave blank slots in the glamour plate, and they won't have any effect on your current gear. (Only specifically placing "Emperor's New Gear" items on the plate would turn the gear invisible - some people have been using this for a 'make jewellery invisible' plate.)

Test it out with some replaceable / non-precious items to begin with, if you want.

Yes there is, there are items that will not go in the armory or in the dresser like the wedding outfit, and it is likely the tc is referencing something from the wedding set.

I have 2 personal contacts that spoke about quitting over this system. For now both are just playing the patch and see how it goes (till it feels boring I guess) However one of them completely canceled the renewal, Once the time laps on it, they will consider quiting for about 30 days, or returning without paying for any retainer. So at best they are withdrawing paying for retainers completely over their own personal idea of a minor boycott (basically trying to show SE, if you are not going to increase funds going into the game to improve game play, then they are not going to give anything extra)

For the system..
You need to go to an inn to change gear on the plates (immensely annoying)
Any gear you put into it can never be worn as normal gear.
you can only put plates on in a city (So if you are the type that glams over new gear in a dungeon, you can't do that anymore with the plates)

You can only have 1 item equiped to glam over that single item

The worst:
You need to be in the inn to preview the gear you put into it
You need to have the gear on a plate to glam it, you can't glam an individual piece from the dresser to your self, you have to put that single item on a plate then do it that way.

Idk why people don't do both. I leave the items I still glamour on my retainers and also the dresser, which I glamour with and without the Dresser. Only thing I put in the Dresser, are things I will never use for gear. The game even tells you that before you put it in. I glamour as much as the next person but it's really not that big of a deal. The ultimate goal of that Dresser was to give us more room in our retainers/inventories.
