Yeah I don't think I've ever had anyone try to do that to me before (Cept for like friends in runs where we are goofing around. But never randoms. I'm mostly mad because I was thinking the run was going so well.
;; Moenbryda did -sob-
But yeah. That all lined up beautifully. It was like the stars aligned and karma did all the work. Silly little highlander mage man! XD Makes me sad. I love Highlander men.

While doing runs with people new to the content can have some frustrations, I don't think I could ever chastise someone simply on the basis that they're new. It'd be different if they had attitude problems or something to that effect that were pretty clear and deliberate, but otherwise that's silly. No matter how rough things get, even in a dicey situation like I had the other day, I'm still going to forgive people who make mistakes doing something their first few times and stay civil. But then I guess there are plenty of people out there who are just impatient and selfish enough not to not put themselves in other people's shoes. It's unfortunate, but it still happens.

Well, I tried Royal City. Abandoned at 56 minutes remaining on second boss. No doubt I made many mistakes. Like I should have used Medica II more often but at first I used it less because people in my alliance were spread out and I ended up in weird places trying to learn to dodge things. Used it much more going forward. I even managed to dodge many of the things more often, though at times I was clearly next to other people who were safe but died anyway. In any event I can see now why people complain about that raid. Sorry for my own contribution to the suck, but even when I was kind of OK the raid as a whole just couldn't get it going.
EDIT: Just queued again... :O
EDIT 2: We went through it like hot butter... woohoo

Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.
If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your nextexciting adventurehealer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.

Holy ever-loving hell, what just happened? Dzemael Darkhold taking over 30 minutes. Well over. Pretty sure we wiped about 6-7 times, mostly on trash packs. A tank that refused to move out of AoEs (dangerous habit with frogs. maybe SE needs more mobs like this that further punish not evading), healer that thought regen was their primary healing spell. Both of which with no other classes leveled, but on different servers. Both of them are wearing semi-adequate gear, at best (pretty sure I saw Dawn Wristguards, why, just why, on top of gear still in the 30s?). The Monk had some 70s, so I thought they might at least save the run, but they didn't seem very top on their job (not that I could say anything, not exactly stellar with the Ninja I was running).
Just, everything possibly wrong with this. Nobody knew what to do with the door timers. Nobody knew about staying in the crystal buff to not dye to the eye. Tank would just hold stuff right in the fire crystals.
Pretty sure the only thing that pulled that run through was the fact that the second and third bosses don't require much out of the tank.
But in the end, nobody deserved my comm.
This thread is usually full of horror stories - mine included. I just wanted to give a shout out to the people I was with for Kugane Castle.
It's so rare that you find groups where everyone knows their role, does it well and mobs just melt. The two SAMs from Coeurl just wrecked stuff, and the kickass WHM from Goblin (there can't be too many of you guys, amiright? j/k) was always on point.
Easiest run I've had in months.

This one is rather funny, just tried to do the guildhest roulette as heals, got "more than a feeler"
The one with the morbol and the bubbles that turn into slime.
I've seen healers have trouble with this before, and now I think I know how they felt at those points.
We get to about 45%, I didn't need to heal yet, but as the adds started to gather up, I stop helping attack and heal the tank.
Instantly all the adds come for me, since more than a few bubbles had popped. I run to the tank so they don't have to chase them. The tank does NOTHING but hit the boss.
And I'm just like. Wut. Ok, I try to heal through it, but there are like ten of them on me and I bite the dust.
So I type. "You gotta keep the adds off of me XD" It's funny to me, I'm honestly amused at that point. Like what just happened?
Everyone dies, instead of running back to spawn for heals when I respawn, and the dps just run back in, pull, die. I try to heal, I pull, I die.
I type "-rubs temples-" Cause the tank is still not doing anything.
The tank finally goes "start over"
So we do. Tank pulls the adds, over powers half of them, I wait for them to get the rest and they just never do. I heal when they are missing about 35% of their hp, I pull aggro on the half they didn't overpower.
I run towards the tank to give them to them. Again, they're doing nothing. I try to heal my self but just bite the dust, and they shortly follow.
Tank had a mentor crown on, so it's not like they shouldn't know they need to keep aggro .__.
Ended up just leaving cause I don't know how much more polite I could say "You have to keep the adds off of me." Without being pushy this time.
How do you say "Do your job Tank" nicely, after you've already told them what they need to do. Granted that many added shouldn't have popped in the first place, but I've seen many burn it with no problem, assuming everyone does their job.
I'm glad you got your clear. I always go in the first week because I learn better by doing the fights, rather than guides, a guide is a good supplement, but doesn't beat jumping in and experiencing it, so I know it's tough going in now when not many have patience to learn together.
Rabanastre is my favorite of the 24man raids, and I honestly don't understand why people think Hashmal is so hard, yes there are one shots, but they are easy enough to avoid usually.
I got a few in-progress while running mentor roulettes last week, where we wiped multiple times and people tried to vote abandon, but I'm glad it didn't pass because we pushed through.
Anywho, now that you have the experience, I hope it's less stressful for you~!!

Drat you beat me to it.
So I join the roulette for Level 70 Roulette with a friend of mine - and see this white mage "Cecelia Stormfeather" (thought the name was nice lol) - she stares at me and is all OMG!! NEPH!!!! At this point im confused but thought the name was familiar suddenly - said it was Tridus on the forums! We both go berserk with happiness making the random DPS'er feel awkward lol.
Best Roulete Eva - would do it again. (thumbs up)
And yes..I do Dark Knight it up ^_^;;; (Dark Knights rule! AKA Angry Little Au Ra who goes Psychotic and went Dark)
Look forward to seeing you again Tridus![]()

I hate fucking Red Mages.
Seriously. Why do you play a damn support class than don't use your actual support?! Yes, I'm a bit salty. Just wiped to Byakko at 2% because the RDM continued to DPS instead of, you know, raising the healers. It happened again, albeit other people had died, which caused a domino effect since we didn't have enough people for the stacks. I was left dead of the floor and while the healers are struggling to catch up. What is this RDM doing? Leaving everyone dead. Again. I get it. People shouldn't make mistakes in the first place, but they happen. And the whole reason RDM is even relevant is due to their unique chain raising. So use it or play Black Mage—the actual greedy DPS.
/rant
Sadly, many healers don't res as well.
For example, yesterday in Void Ark at some point in my group a few persons were down, including the tank (I was playing DPS, and actually RDM but at 60 no res),no more big damage was coming in, situation was pretty stable and no other resses happened before (so no Swiftcast on CD). Neither of the healers was ressing. After a good while one ressed the tank. After another long while...the fight ended, and the dpers were never raised. I swear some people just avoid ressing or something, like it's a sin.
