It's 2018 for crying out loud. There shouldn't BE class restrictions for items turned into glamour. there are no class restrictions on converted items in rival games such as:
People have been complaining about that for years. Each time there are also a number of players who cry that this would somehow destroy class/job identity if anyone could equipe any armour. Find one the umpteen older threads on this issue for all the arguments for and against.

The dresser preserves the one thing that you actually want from the gear - the appearance - so why isn't that enough? A case COULD be made for glamour fanatics who can actually fill out the dresser's 200-space capacity, but I'm guessing that only a small minority of the doom 'n gloom folks actually qualify for that.
    Old way:
    - Design glamours at any summoning bell.
    - Take desired glams of the week from retainers and keep them in your bag.
    - Apply glamour anywhere.

    New way:
    - Design glamours at an inn and nowhere else.
    - Make glamour plates but only ten of them (some of which will be single weapons because of role-shared gear).
    - Apply glamours only in cities and a few other places.
Because the dresser is capped at 200 and some items can't be converted to glamours:
    - Continue to check your retainers to see and try on your other glamour items when designing glamours.
    - Continue to carry in your bags the glamour set items you don't want to or can't place in the dresser.

My main issue with this system is that it introduces new limits and additional steps to glamouring without adding anything valuable aside from inventory space (which can then only be managed by deleting things). It's not unreasonable to say a free retainer would have worked better. I decided I hate not having inventory space more than I hate deleting my glamour skins after hitting max capacity, and now have an almost full dresser. I'm hardly a fanatic because 200 items collected in the past three years is only one glamour set per month.

Very well phrased post Reinha and sums up my feelings exactly.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but there are some other problems with the Dresser I've bumped into since having the chance to play around with it. First, I must leave at least one of the ten plates empty so that I have a way to apply a single item if I need to. The Dresser won't let me NOT use plates. Ideally I would like to be able to click on a single item in the dresser and be able to apply it as a glamour without the need to use plates at all. Also the restrictions placed on the Inn room make using the Dresser a hassle. Say I have an item I want to put in the Dresser that has materia equipped that I want to retrieve first. I need to exit the Inn, retrieve the materia and then come back. Since I'm now forced to use the Inn as my glamouring hub (because there is no Dresser housing item that I'm aware of?) I would appreciate it if the many restrictions placed on the Inn room were removed.

Good to know, one complaint off the list.

Simple: when I have the item on me, I can equip/unequip it on a moments notice w/o the need to stack clear prisms and stand there casting for 10s trying to restore my gear. Also I can mix/match on the fly in the field, everywhere.

For role play purposes, having the actual item on hand is still unbeaten in terms of flexiblity.

I'm curious what about this process would take "hours to explain," as Yoshi-P was translated to say. Unless he was confusing how the system will eventually be developed, with eventual updates and development, with to how it is now, in its introductory stage.

If this is the case, then that type of usability oversight is just downright shameful. Hopefully this will be one of the first things they address with updates.
