XI's glamour system is starting to look fantastic at this point.

For the uninitiated, you just pull pieces you want to use onto the equipment screen and then save the look (can save up to 100 outfits). No prisms or plates used. And you can equip/remove the saved outfit from anywhere, and on any job, just by going through the menu.

So, who's going to start the petition to have the glamour dresser renamed the glamour commode?

As far as I am concerned it's still the glamour toilet.

My biggest complaints so far are that I'm going to see the (*___ equipped, but glamours could not be restored) message more often, and the chat log spam. Just have it say "Glamour plate 1 applied" or something instead of each individual item.

I knew it from the instant this new Glamour Dresser was announced, it's just a half-as*ed implementation of a working idea!...

For this thing to work we need much more than 200 pieces of capacity and I mean 1,000 in total at the very least, then we need to have at least 10 Glamour Plates for each one of the jobs in order to be able to switch from look to look in an instant!...

I really have no idea of how many expansions we will see before the Glamour Dresser becomes what I just said, SE can easily make it happen but they don't want to because they can use any and all minuscule upgrades as content for new patches, if that's not the reason why they didn't make this thing better is because they simply made a poor job!...

Wait so you actually can make the classes of the same gear look different? Did I do something wrong then? Because I put something on my white mage and it overwrote what my scholar was wearing.

Edit: Fiddled with it more and yeah it's not working, how are you guys doing it?

Edit 2: Ah...I get it, and understand the thread now. You have to manually select the glamour along with changing your class. Yeah this is stupid and disappointing. It doesn't even seem to support dyes :|

I really wish it would save over your gear set. Like I can deal with the 200 item limit and 10 plate limit if they would save over the gear set. It’s a bit annoying when I’m bouncing healers and have to reapply the plate each time I switch. :/

It's a good thing that any system one game created can be completely recreated in any game. /s

It JUST came out. Systems that have been done in other MMOs can't just be replicated without actual testing and growth. Use the system, report the issues, let grow. Or just keep the salt following. I don't care.

Yeah, this is not working the way I was hoping. As the OP said, don't overwrite our existing glamours. Let the Glamour Plate be an overlay that has a higher priority than normal glamours.

With this system, I think we need at least 20 plates and the ability to change plates outside of city-states.

All of this could have been much easier and better if FFXIV used the glamour system of Xenoblade X (or the Fashion Gear as they call it in that game). Each playable character has an extra set of equipment slots that overrides the appearance of the normal equipment slots. Have that as a base and expand from that.

You can make a macro that changes your gear set and glamour plate at the same time.

    /gearset change X Y

X = the number on the gear set you want to change into
Y = the glamour plate you want to use

    You can also add

    /macroicon "X" gearset

so the macro icon is the job/class icon.
