I understand that this is what we get till 2.0, but I much rather see the drop rate lowered, but the weapon itself goes into a loot pool. Yoshi just needs to trust that we won't ninja loot. Sure they are out there, but I think that majority of players who play honestly should not have to suffer under these conditions because a very small amount of people do not play fairly. Most people go to these events within their LS, I think ninja looting would very rarely be an issue.

I will take this idea however in 1.20. At least I know I will eventually get my weapon. I have successfully killed Ifrit over a hundred times and I have 6/7 weapons. Want to guess the one last weapon I don't have? That is right, the weapon I actually want, the sword. I gave up trying to get the weapon and waiting for 1.20 to get the Moogle Sword. If I beat him over a hundred times and don't get what I want, don't you think this is a problem?

Make the drop rate lower, but put the weapon in a loot pool. At least I don't feel like I am getting jerked around when a mage with a lv.36 GLA who only leveled it for Sentinel got my sword, and just puts it in their retainer. It is a kick in the balls that most of the people in my LS have the sword, can't even use it, and myself, who is a GLA main does not have one because of an awful system like this put into place.

But myself and hundreds more, right?

but your argument should have been more of leaving the system the way it was instead of yoshi showing his inexperience and ignorance. if it was left the way it was with drops going into the loot list you would have had your sword long ago.

we only have 2 people in our ls that doesn't have the sword. 1 is our main tank and the other is a guy with only 2 drops, but we have dropped probably 50 swords to the ground when we could have just simply passed them over.

This decision is an attack on your choice to do content with a linkshell, with friends, and not random strangers who would stab you in the back.

Someone needs to tell Yoshida that the majority of their players do not have this problem with "ninja looting" and want to regain a sense of teamwork in their goals and rewards. Something we at least had until 1.19. Without it content suffers greatly.

We "complained" about your loot because of the personal loot lists and somehow from that Yoshida and his team read that we needed you to simplify loot to a currency grind? Maybe they should shut down these forums if their reading comprehension is really so low.

I think personally this is the worst decision the FFXIV team has made since launch.

I posted in that JP thread responding to YoshiP's comment that instead of item to trade to NPC they should of implemented a system which counts the number of kills made to the Primals (although that might eat up another portion of database...doubt it's that much data which might kill the server...) with number of kills have the NPC tell you something like "You killed ______ X times, wow! here as a reward take one of these" > choose the one you want > next time you want something else the requirement is little bit higher (more kills required)

I hope the drop rate on the item you trade isn't that bad... Either way doesn't affect me lol haven't tried Ifrit at all yet... too busy playing Ni No Kuni atm also anyways lol

Why would anyone rather have a monotonous personal grind than simply being able to share their random rewards with others in the group who helped them kill it!

Who are these people? Why is Square Enix designing content for trolls and server outcasts and not the majority of their players who do content like Ifrit with people they know and specifically want to help out?

There are many people doing Ifrit right now who are doing it specifically to help others get their items and for no other reason (it is a boring, tedious fight at this point), but Yoshida thinks it is totally fine to slap them in the face by implementing a currency grind instead of simply letting them trade the 8-9th Ifrit's Blade dropped to them to their friend who is 0-100.

oh believe me i am completely on your side with this. my post was in response to you asking the other guy why he supported the grind instead of being able to just toss it to someone else. we all know there may be some person that tries to ninja a drop, but since it went into the loot list everyone was able to see it. when they did so they were just kicked and remembered not to ever party with again.

if they want the community to work together they should give them the chance to do so. i never heard any complaints about the batraal loot system other than they wanted a master looter to decide who gets what. that would have been easy to add, but it would have been close to the original system and yoshi wants to change everything for the pure sake of changing it even if his ideas are even worse.

At least we'll eventaully get an item to trade in for a weapon, however I do agree his excuse for not adding a party loot pool to Ifrit is pretty stupid when he even said it himself he was going to add one for 1.20.

First keeping Archer's AA restricted to only close range and now this? Starting to wonder if Yoshida is even up to the task of salvaging this game with poor decisions like that.
