They did say that you cant use the gear as gear anymore if its in the dresser so the sentence you posted was more like that. This never truly meant that we could never get it out again and I find it a bit strange that they would post it in that way in the live letter thread. I mean the patch notes have these hints in red to make sure that people understand that they will be destroyed so why not write it that way too?

It matters because we cant use that system for retainers and squadrons and people use glamour on them too. Also they said a lot of stuff in the past and did not hold that promise so we do not have a 100% safety that they will increase that or change the system. So I would be putting stuff in there that I might regret putting in there later..which I would not be able to get back. So no I will not try it because I simply cant get them back..if we could retrieve them again that would be different..
