I retain my previous sentiments that people are just going to have to behave themselves. I say this not wanting to do like SE and think for the players, and entirely in the wrong ways. If someone wants to behave poorly, I'm prepared to take them down and style on them. Or if the case is extreme enough, report them. I'm not worried about who's going to try and ruin the fun for everyone, but I AM prepared to deal with it as necessary. Beyond that, it's all fair in there.

Besides, we've talked about all the negatives already. Rather than pointing out what might not work, why not help this idea grow?

I don't think the community will be half as noble as you want them to be but I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting this statement but you can't help the idea grow without pointing out what might not work AND what might work. You need to find what isn't working and deal with it or you'll just have a broken mess on your hands; which nobody wants. For example, here's a couple points I didn't see mentioned that should be considered.

    * Map Level - If there are fates or attackable mobs then the map needs to have a level range. What should it be for this map? If lv 30 characters can enter then placing mobs at lv 70 puts them at a nightmarish disadvantage to everyone, including their own team. If its Lv 30 with mobs and fates in the range of 30-40, then the mobs become trivial and the fates beg the question of level sync. If players are level synced in a fate, can people outside the fate attack them?

    * Flight - Should it be allowed? If its allowed then it could add an interesting dynamic for scouting, it also opens the possibility of being attacked while airborne and being forced to land so flight isn't an automatic safe zone.

    * Swimming - Should it be included? There's no underwater combat and I would expect technical limitations in trying to let someone attack something in the water given that you have to cross that zone boundary. Swimming would be a default safe zone because of it and potentially a means of safe travel between locations (also a safe place to gather/spear fish if included). I think as long as its not possible to cover more than 25% of the map in a single swimming area then it wouldn't be game breaking.

    * Spawn camping - Its pvp, you know its going to happen at some point. How do you limit this? Automated guards to force players to keep a distance? Multiple exits from the base that don't have line of sight with each other? Flight/swimming?

I assume it would follow the same rules as current pvp. Levels and skills are generalized upon entering the zone. No swimming or flying mounts. As for spawn camping, maybe add steam cannons like in Rival Wings to safe zones and a flying porter that can take you to other safe zones. Ganking and spawn camping can be a pain but it's part of what makes pvp fun. Get back at those who did it to you.
