That's why Tri-Bind is only good when used in Dreadwyrm in a mob. It removes the bind and buffs the damage.

SMN isn't meant to really help the party. I've played it since 2.0. The resurrection is a fantastic tool, but not to be relied on. The pet also buffs the party with the new added skill that I can't remember off the top of my head. The party utility is minor, but there when you need it. It's a relatively mobile caster, and that alone adds utility through DPS.

Also in my opinion, CC is relatively useless unless soloing content or in PvP.
