    i agree with you but i dont think its most of the community, it seems to be quite split. there are a lot of 1 time posters going "wtf?"

    the people who want the new mages also want a very simplified battle mechanic.
    if were not going to worry so much on elements anymore, why have elemental weakness at all? why not just have a universal "spell power" stat which effects nukes, heals and buffs that way we dont have to worry about switching stats, gear, or materia so we can play a 100% simplified game just like every other MMO? /sarcasm (just FYI most MMOs do not have elemental affinities, just one universal "spell power" stat)

    its like they want an MMO thats juuuuust Final Fantasy enough, but not too far off from your standard generic MMO.

    no, no they dont. even if they did, this is an MMO which should cater to different mechanics.

    give me a master list of spells to choose how i play my game.

    Speaking for myself, I like the new changes because offensive spells go beyond "enemy is weak to X element, spam it". Coming off FF11, the combo system sounds really interesting and fun. Trimming down the spell list gets rid of bloat and attaching debuffs to offense spells/ws's makes sure that you are at least doing SOMETHING if your debuff fails and makes more classes more useful. I'd like to get my hands on the new system first but so far nothing seems bad to me, and I haven't played any MMOs besides Warhammer for about 2 weeks or Phantasy Star Online.

    1st: It's spelled separate.

    2nd: CNJ is NOT WHM. WHM is a specialization for special occassions.

    3rd: For BLM, you'll probably need CNJ at 15 and THM at 30. This means that BLM gets all the current elemental spells if the level for said elemental spells is at or below 15.

    4th: CNJ is DEFINED as an elementalist. Hell, in the French version of the game, CNJ is called Elementalist (in French, obviously).

    I thought I spelled it wrong.

    As for needing Cjn to 15. I would believe that since the original example they used with Paladin, with gladiator and marauder, but it seems to have been changed to only needing 1 class.

    As for Conjurers, it is someone's mistake for making the classes not fitting with their stories. In my opinion it would have made more sense to have Cjn Blm, and Thm whm.

    the enfeebles are used in combos, but some of them have a chance to proc. I rather have the spell with Dark Seal to make sure it goes off. Slow is a life-saver against Ifrit.

    Copying some of my other post and pasting here:

    It doesn't matter if they have a crappy damaging out, it cools if a Cjn/Whm wants to DD, but why are you going to waste MP on DDing, leave it to the Thm/Blm.

    It also makes no sense they get that spell to use all there MP to deal damage to enemies around you. That clearly should be Thm/blm. Benediction should use all your MP to heal.

    It makes no sense for the Whm to be able to heal all HP, and then use the rest of their mp to do some kind of mega nuke that binds. It's unfair.
    I actually think its awesome the way it is. Your forgeting that Red Mage needs to get implemented, and there is where the enfeebles would go.

    Where did you pick up that you'd only need one class? It's been clear since day one that there will be one main class behind each job, but that there are two, which was revealed during his interview tour as a work-in-progress, still does not seem to have changed.

    Eh. Both scenarios made sense. I was hopeful for CNJ becoming BLM, but I knew it was 50/50 since we found out about jobs.
