In copperbell mines normal mode as an RDM last night.
Party composition is PLD, RDM, WHM, BLM (which is pretty awesome in 4 man content). First pull, no flash, me and BLM pull hate, blm leaves. Before I can say anything to the tank, off to the next pull. No flash again. I tell him to flash 2x just to build an enmity lead. He turns to me, bows, then "agrees wholeheartedly" with me. Next pull, no flash but he pulled 2 packs. So i decide to ask 1 more time. silence. Keep in mind, we have just 3 people. So i decide screw it, ill tank on my RDM. AoE everything, pull hate on everything. We win, no wipes. That WHM was a savage.
So, the moral of my story is this. Sometimes people need to learn through extreme examples. He basically added nothing to the group at all. After 2nd boss a SAM joined and we bascially competed for aggro the rest of the time. Fun times had by all.

Why not kicked him? At least he got a free carry and maybe that's what he wants. A kick would've maybe a wake up call for the tank to do something for future runs, since he responded to your advice and ignored it, twice.
Copperbell isn't that hard but it's annoying to have the feeling to carry some through content because it's obviously. It's not that he tried to be useful![]()

I hope not. It's the only RDM I've seen that was serious about trying to be a tank in an Expert Dungeon, but if there's others out there like that, especially when they've got a Tank that actually knows how to be a Tank...
Might have become one during my 5 weekish break, but again, I hope not.
Believe me. I was very tempted to let it happen. Only reason I didn't let it happen was because I just didn't want to waste any time in that run. And sadly, some people still don't learn even if you let them die to their impatience. D:

It crossed my mind, but then i figured if maybe others chimed in, he would get the hint. apparently not >.>Why not kicked him? At least he got a free carry and maybe that's what he wants. Well, that was an interesting in prog Library to end up in (hopping into a leveling roulette even with everything at 70 for some sweet clusters and Khloe points). No first-timers were involved.
Demon tome (where we started), kills RDM and WHM (former partly due to no healing from latter), and they start bickering. Guess I'm not leaving Defiance then. Me and the monk (props to the little sprout for his best efforts throughout) take the boss down to ~30%, monk dies (an unavoidable eventuality in that boss), I finish it up while the two mages keep shouting at each other.
Trash pulls and boss #2 go alright, then we get to the last boss.
Oh dear...
WHM apparently has some deep fixation in standing in pulsating balls. Keeps taking stacks from them to the point where they die from full health from the next pulse. This is eventually partially remedied by some very handholdy instruction using waymarkers, but she's still taking stacks...
RDM is apparently allergic to standing on platforms that already have 2 people on them. As in, a demon is spawning soon and the platform has 2 people already, but nope gotta shoot that Veraero.
The monk is at least trying, and owning up to his own mistake the one time a ball marker went unnoticed. Got my comm for being not nearly as bad as the other two.
Eventually cleared after 4 or so wipes. And I'm now confident I can WARtank that boss without any outside healing so long as no more than half the adds in each part get to spawn, and the spawned ones are killed fast.
I think I'll have to go get some tea after that...

For some reason my alt attracts all the best people in duty finder. I do a leveling roulette as an archanist and get Sastasha and get greeting by a message from the healer (male Au Ra) stating the tank (female Au Ra) is new so go easy. Which would be fine and checking the tank showed a full set of shire gear and HQ right side, dolled up and glamoured into a bikini. Other than me mentioning the tank has no pants, nothing much was said the entire run. First pull the tank ran up to the mobs and stood there. It's not the first time and not the last this will happen. The other DPS and I stay patient, though antsy, and for the most part wait for the tank to attempt to grab the mobs with each pull. Halfway through the healer asks if it's okay to put Eos on sic and help with DPS. I wanted to say Eos didn't need to be on sic and you could literally dps the entire dungeon without having to heal. I just said I was fine with it instead. We still continue slowly through with the scholar healer just barely dpsing. I gave my com to the other dps and I got one as well which I hope came from him.
I would have been fine with this situation if it was a level appropriate tank. With one that's level 60 the two could have easily just unsynced it for the story. I don't really see the point in dragging two dps into it, only to have the power to kick them if they complain. I also don't see the reasoning in buying a level jump potion for your fist class when you didn't get the story one too. By the time you get to the level 60 content you are leveled for, you will be level 70 and all that exp would have been wasted or put into another class. They would have been level 60 by the time they get to that point in the story.
But hey, they broke up the usual female white mage/ male paladin routine nicely, so I guess that's interesting?

Dun Scaith last night for Alliance Roulette.
At the first boss, the big manta ray on the airship, and things are going ok. We get to the part where the boss lays down the icicles and you're supposed to line up with them to avoid being knocked off (the second time around). Well we kill it juuuust after knock back affect takes place.
Now, what we learnt was when the boss dies the icicles disappear instantly...but you're still in motion. The end result is all 24 of us being swept off and dying.
Luckily the boss arena is literally at the start so not far to run after the respawn but we all got a good laugh out of it.

Had a fun experience last night. My PSU started to die (I figured out later) last night and it happened to shut down my system during Expert Duty finder runs. The first run, I ended up with some folks from gilgamesh. One person (DPS) had an emergency and his friend (healer) asked for us to wait. Not wanting to wait in the DPS queue again I waited it out (10+ minutes). Was annoyed with the tank and the healer not wanting to kill the trash mobs ahead while we waited. Anyway fast forward to near final boss, my system crashes (first time) and I get it up and log back in within 5 minutes. Guess they were not as patient with me as I was with them and I was kicked. I have and old character on gilgamesh and was about to /tell them off but my system went "poof" before I could...
I also want to apologize to anyone else (not the the x2 gilgameshers) who did a DF with me last night while I was tank. I'm sorry I d/ced, my PSU kept shutting me down. Had to go and replace it. I hope you found a replacement tank.
