i know they said abilities would be weaker for cross class. but in this case they should still work with magic attack power
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
I understand what you are saying.
If Cjn wants to solo let them cross class the elemental spells, it should come to come to the cost of the soloer, not to the person who want to party on damage.
Why should the Job that is meant to be a DD caster in a group/event be gimped because the soloer want a way to DD.
It's not only for solo, but for the class quests too. They should be makeable without cross class.
Maybe CNJ need the +20% Dmg skill because his normal attack magic potency could be much lower than his healing magic potency. And who said THM don't get a +attack magic potency as a trait?
We have still not all informations about the class reform. The trait list is still missing.
well by your logic then THM/BLM should get Sacrifice back, oh and also give them Shell. Whos to say THM/BLM sacrifice would be as powerful as their nukes? It's not only for solo, but for the class quests too. They should be makeable without cross class.

CNJ/WHM is looking awfully similar to an all around "does everything" mage which gives it a more viable chance to solo as its own class, all while THM/BLM is neither looking like a glass cannon nor a an all around magic user like CNJ/BLM.
i thought they wanted the classes to be more defined.... but CNJ/WHM can do it all just as it could before. its hardly any different.
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
You could look it up. BLM in FFI did have Quake, yes, but it wasn't earth elemental and instead caused Death on all enemies. By the way, if you scroll down to near the bottom of the page, you'll see a series of links to a by-game "Magic List." Going through it, you won't find Quake as earth elemental until FFIII, which is the same game that gives Aero to WHM. That's the first appearance of Aero as a player-cast spell, too. Only three of the games with lists available actually give all six elements to BLM. . .
its practically moot to argue that old FFs had specific ways of doing things anyway because they are single player games with the need of different mechanicsYou could look it up. i dont see why WHM cant have light based nukes such as a couple holy nukes or banish nukes... wtf is the point of giving them anything else (for nukes)?

Don't get me wrong, if I were in charge I'd've given CNJ Astral and maybe Umbral DD spells. What I'm saying, though, is that it's impossible to claim that Quake and Aero absolutely, positively must go to THM/BLM when you consider that the only elements that go to BLM every single time are Fire/Ice/Lightning. Hell, even Ultima apparently started out as being a WHM spell. . .its practically moot to argue that old FFs had specific ways of doing things anyway because they are single player games with the need of different mechanics

just checking my crystal ball for you now, i see somethingits practically moot to argue that old FFs had specific ways of doing things anyway because they are single player games with the need of different mechanics

dev 1 "why give CON any elemental nukes, why not give them all holy nukes, and give all elemental nukes to THM?"
dev 2 " well we could do that but, we only have 15 abilities per class. and to give THM all 6 would restrict what else we could give it"
dev 1 "ah yes, but what if THM users complain they want wind or earth based nukes for certain mobs?"
dev 2 "well all they need to do is use up 2 of the 10 slots allocated for cross class abilities"
dev 1 "oh i see, sounds like you know what your doing, but you do know some ppl will be very upset at these changes"
dev 2 " ppl get up set at everything let the little tro--------

There are plenty of whm only damage spells without watering both mages to grey mages. Anyone who has played a ff title would know this.
