4.2 Housing Update

A German website asked SE if people will lose their old houses with the new system and SE said that they wont answer that question right now..so this reads much more that its still possible that people might lose it because if they dont, why would they not just say it, especially if its true and Yoshida already stated this in the liveletter.

Also they did wait with the housing informations because they said that they dont want people to get ready for it..no information from yesterday hints at something that people can prepare. The only thing might be the restriction to FC and four members but if that is the information than they already gave it out way to early since people can prepare that..so either they went against their own words and already told us everything or the most important information is still locked up..which would be: what happens with the old houses? If they would have told us that people will lose it, they could have tried to sell them until the patch so not telling them would mean that they keep their houses thus prevents them from getting too much Gil out of this. This just feels like a good plan from their side and would also explain why they need a whole website for this.

(And lets not forget that the housing timer did not exist from the beginning too and people bought their houses with the knowledge that they can keep it. Yet when the timer came, every house was put under that rule. So it would be only fair if that new rule will be used on old houses too, otherwise the timer should have just been for newer houses.)

why would they not just say it

Because that's an absolute and could be for multitude of reasons:

• The person at SE Germany who was asked simply has no idea of the answer as that'll be decided by SE Japan.
• SE literally haven't decided yet or they don't want to commit to a choice (as we've seen in the past every time they say something that isn't delivered, pitchforks get raised by the community).
• There's currently a community mob demanding people lose their additional houses, them not confirming either way is a much more diplomatic answer.

• People who previously bought houses to sell now know to offload them before the 29th.
• People who wanted to purchase personal houses in 4.2 now know to try and get hold of anything they can so they can relocate with 4.2 (as outright personal purchases won't work, but relocating will).

the most important information is still locked up..which would be: what happens with the old houses?

I don't speak Japanese myself, but multiple other people have now confirmed that's what he said.

For posts like yours where people missed out on some of the information Website would put it all in one place.

The housing timer you have a chance to actually save your house (just use it...). What you're suggesting isn't really the same thing as it doesn't give the actual player (who didn't do anything wrong...) that option.

This is likely the biggest reason they won't relay that information. If they acknowledged people will lose all their houses except one, they will mass sell everything, which defeats the whole purpose of SE trying to accommodate FCs first.

You do have some good arguments and we probably have to wait for 30.01 for the final confirmation but if above points are those things that they did not want people to know...why would they talk about this right now? Why not wait till the servers are down to keep people from creating and leveling FCs to get a house. I mean it might be some hard work but its still quite possibly to do that in the amount of time until the patch goes live. Why not post this from the very beginning? I mean it might have given them even more of a time but those that are dedicated enough will manage to do that anyway. So if those where the secrets why post them already? They could have just posted the amounts of new wards and maybe that FC gets it first (and the time when they will sell it) but still dont talk about the other points so that people wont prepare for it or sell their stuff. Its just so strange.

I see you point of view as well. Maybe they're going to say that you need level 60 for a personal house instead of 50 or that you need FC rank 8 instead of 6, but yeh it is entirely possible that more is still coming.

Im gonna bet there upping the Gc rank also to..probly to First Lieutenant (you now the squad 40 mission)
