The only bit I would like to see them add....
Is for someone that owns more than one house currently. The 1st house they enter becomes there. The rest refunded.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
All I have to say is... it's about time!
Honestly, I can't foresee SE forcing players who do own multiple properties to give them up (but I could be wrong). My speculation is that they'll be grandfathered in, but we'll know more when they release their "special site".
The randomized timer for re-purchase is also a good idea as it will help with house flippers who are price gouging players. It does suck though that this means you can't relinquish a house to a friend.
I'd actually like to see them potentially add a feature that would allow you to transfer ownership of your estate to someone whom you share it with.
I don't think I agree with the FC only purchase restriction on ward release. That's really not fair for individuals, especially those on high pop servers, they're going to be ass out of luck. If they were going to do something like this I feel like they should have restricted it to FC's in primary wards and personal houses in the sub-wards. :/

According to this comment on Reddit you'll be grandfathered in and will retain all of your current properties. You can apparently freely Relocate any or all of those properties at will without restriction as well, as purchasing and relocating are counted as entirely different things.
When the plots become available on February 6th, FCs without houses* and anyone that currently owns a plot can pick and choose as they please. Everyone else has to wait until personal housing purchases become available and can then pick up the scraps. There's a near-zero probability that any medium or large houses will be available for purchase by then.
* Some extra tomfoolery that, as of January 30th, you won't be able to buy an FC plot if any character you have is in any FC on that world. You can presumably still wind up owning multiple FCs by joining after the fact and having leadership transferred.

The one per person/account is nice but they also need to do the right thing and retroactively apply that to people that own more than one house on a single account. With a full refund of course, but they should still be taken away. The fact that there aren’t enough houses is still a thing yes, but unless they take them away from people that were in before the limit (which should have been there since day one I might add as a pointed admonishment to the devs) it’s a hollow gesture.
If you relinquish land, that will be not for sale for some random time and you don't see how much time. Goodbye resellers.
I am so happy to see the house flippers and hoarders finally being put out with this update, as well as giving the fcs first shot at the new wards. A ton of them were left out during the Shirogane madness (to said house flippers and hoarders).
I really would like some official commentary on what will be done with the present hoarders. By no means should they be permitted to keep all the houses, after all their actions are what triggered the new restrictions. Let them choose 1, give them as much time as it takes to auto-demo, and refund them fully. If they fail to decide in that time limit, demolish all houses save for the one first purchased.
Absolutely not. If someone has several houses they bought when a server was small, have built them up with things like shirogane walls, expensive chandeliers and mogstation interior walls, how is SE going to pick which house stays, and reimburses them for the ingame and mogstation purchases? Not going to happen. The one per person/account is nice but they also need to do the right thing and retroactively apply that to people that own more than one house on a single account. The solution they're adding for 4.2 is the right solution. Apartments is what people should buy if they want a personal space, houses should only be for FCs. Thank you devs!
